The AM/FM reception in my 2010 Prius is POOR, as if antenna is not connected or antenna amp is not working. 1. does this car even have an antenna amp? Where is it located? Someone told me it is inside the black roof “pod”. True?
The aerial in your Prius 2010 is located in the rear screen I believe. least it is in my Prius iTECH 2010. I find in city driving the signal does go off a little mainly due to buildings. Once out in an open space it appears OK. My complaint is that the whole set up has no subwoofer as per the previous model 2009. I need to remove dash panels to access the head unit. Does anyone know how to do this without breaking things?
We just bought a 2010 Highlander with the JBL radio and GPS. The radio sounds awful. Previously, my husband owned a Toyota Avalon with the JBL and it was awesome. We took it to the dealership and they said they would check with Toyota for service issues. The reception is distorted and it sounds “tinny”. We are not happy with this because this radio was important to our buying decision. Has anyone been able to find out why this sounds so terrible? The dealership doesn’t seem to know. Also, has anyone been able to fix this without buying an after market radio to replace this new one?
Visually, my 2010 prius radio is working, but there is no sound. Blue tooth has sound. cd shows it is playing but no sound. Anyone got an idea what’s wrong.
Greg, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by using an Automotive Fuse Tester and making sure all of your fuses are not blown. If all of your fuses are good, your 2010 Toyota Prius stereo or factory amplifier (if equipped) may be faulty. We suggest you take your car to an experienced audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2010 Toyota Prius radio troubleshooting.
