  1. Brandon, you can get to the rear speakers on most late model cars one of two ways. You can remove the rear speaker grills from some vehicles simply by removing screws that hold down the speaker grills to the rear deck lid. These screws are usually located on the bottom side of the rear deck (accessible through the trunk). The second way would require you to remove the deck lid from the interior of the car. On some cars removal of the rear seats is required to get to the rear deck lid. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2007 Kia Rio rear speaker removal.

  2. I’m trying to install a pair of 12″ Dual subs into my 2009 Kia Rio…it needs something cool about it. I have the wiring set I need for power supply, but the Rio’s stock HU doesn’t have left and right female audio input though. How can I set this up well and without having to buy a new HU with left and right female audio input?

  3. Seth, most late model vehicles do not have RCA outputs on the factory radio to feed an audio signal to your aftermarket amplifier. You would have to install a line out converter to supply an audio output. Here is the Line-Out Converter you need:

Scosche 2-Channel Speaker to RCA Line Out Converter

When splicing in the RCA Line Out Converter, tap your factory rear speaker wires to get a full range audio source. We suggest you invest in some solid wire taps that wont come loose. These wire tap connectors will allow you to tap into wires without cutting and installs in seconds by hand with no crimping or tools required. If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2009 Kia Rio amplifier installation.

  4. During the winter our 2009 Kia Rio had a dead battery and now the radio won’t work. We do not have a Kia dealership in our area and no one seems to be able to tell us how to get the 4 digit code needed to activate the radio. We were told by one person to pull out the radio and the 4 digit code number would be on the stereo unit but the only numbers on the radio when it was taken out of the dash were the radio part number and serial number. The radio part number is 99994051G08B and the serial number is MOO4290. Any suggestions or help?

  5. Norman, radio security codes are usually written in your car manual or given to you when you purchase the vehicle. If you do not have the radio security code, you would have to obtain it from the local Kia dealer. The Hyundai dealer should be able to tell you what your radio unlock code is by providing your VIN number. Hope this helps. Good luck with unlocking your 2009 Kia Rio radio.

  7. im trying to remove my factory stereo in my 2009 kia optima but cant figure out how to remove it from the dash. how is that done? anyone know?

  8. Eric, you will need some aftermarket electronics to hook up a amplifier to your 2009 Kia Rio factory stereo. You will need five components:

    1. Car Audio Amplifier that matches your subwoofer power needs and ohm rating.
    2. Car Amplifier Wiring Kit that can handle the power needs of your amplifier.
    3. RCA Line Out Converter to feed an audio signal from your factory radio to your aftermarket amplifier.

First run all your amplifier power from your car battery to where you plan on mounting your amplifier. Next, run your ground wire from your grounding point to your amplifier. Wire up the RCA Line Out Converter to the rear speaker wires to get a full range audio source. Next, connect one end of your RCA jacks to the Line Out Converter and the other end of the RCA jacks to your amplifier. This will provide an audio signal to your after market amp. Lastly, connect your subwoofer to your after market amplifier using the speaker wire in the amplifier wiring kit. If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2009 Kia Rio stereo installation.
