Hi there, I have a 2008 Mazda 3 car stereo taken out of the car’s dashboard after replacing it with an in-dash dvd/gps unit. I would like to use it at home as an stand alone unit but I don’t know how to power it. It has only 2 terminals to connect the wire kits. I would appreciate if you could help me with this matter. Thanks, Noel
I have a 2005 Mazda 3 and my 6 cd player recently died. I am looking to replace it. I was wondering if i can use a newer (newer than 2005) mazda cd player. Possily one with an ipod hookup? Does anyone know anything about this? Your help is much appreciated!!!!!!!
Vincent, when using a Speaker to RCA Line Out Converter tap your factory rear speaker wires to get a full range audio source. We suggest you invest in some solid wire taps that wont come loose. These wire tap connectors will allow you to tap into wires without cutting and installs in seconds by hand with no crimping or tools required. If you use a RCA Line Out Converter, it will be affected by fade and balance if you move the balance or fade away from the speaker you tapped. The only way your subwoofer will not be affected is if you use an after market car stereo with non-fading rca outputs. If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2008 Mazda 3 subwoofer installation.
I am installing an amp and sub to my 08 madza 3 and I have the line out converter that has connections for all the speakers. So should I tap into all four of my speakers with the converter so that way my sub is perfectly balanced and not just connected to the rear? I just dont know if the sound will be messed up if I tap into only the rear, as far as the fade/balance goes. What do you think?
Hey, I just wanted to know what the white with black and silver dots cable was, and the white with red too. Thanks!
Zac, it depends on which aftermarket radio you’re planning on installing. You will need a steering wheel control adapter to keep your factory steering wheel controls:
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Alpine Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Blaupunkt Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Clarion Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Eclipse Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for JVC Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Kenwood Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Pioneer Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Sony Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Valor Radio
If you have never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2008 Mazda 3 steering wheel adapter installation.
I’m installing an after-market CD player in my 2008 Mazda 3 and I was wondering if i will be able to still use the controls on the steering wheel in order to work the deck ??.
I wired a JL Audio Cleansweep into my Mazda 3, but after making all the connections, the cleansweep errors out with all red lights blinking, indicating that I do not have full range at any of the channels. Any idea why this could be? I verified my connections as I can Fade/Balance to every individual speaker and all connections are soldered and shrinkwrapped. I ran a 9 wire speed cable from the factory HU to the cleansweep. This is driving me nuts and right now all I have is a $300 LOC…

Would you have the wire colors and polarity for speakers for a 2010 Mazda 3 S Hatch.Non Bose 6 speaker system
Alec, technically you could connect your 2008 Mazda 3 amplifier turn on wire to the radio switched 12v+ wire. That way your amplifier is on whenever your 2008 Mazda 3 is on and off whenever your 2008 Mazda 3 is off. Just make sure to run an in-line fuse holder with a 1-amp fuse on the amplifier turn on wire. Hope this helps. Good luck with your amplifier install.
This has been an extremely helpful tool, I have had success with installing a LOC, amp, and subs in my 08 Mazda3 Touring S. Now I am trying to install a new double din JVC head unit. It looks like it’s just plug and play, however I am curious about the steering wheel controls. Do I need anything special to keep these working or are they connected with the other smaller harness in the back of the factory unit? If that’s the case does anyone have a diagram for that harness? Thanks for your help guys!
I’m installing 2 amps, 1-2 channel sub amp and 1-4channel amp to the factory deck. Which wire(what color) do I hook up the remote turn on’s to both amp’s?

i am trying to find a wiring diagram for my 2007 mazda 3 and when i click on the link it brings me here is the 2008 wiring diagram the same as the 2007?
was wondering if anyone knew how to use this radio outside the car. Particually the screen. My problem is that no information is shown on the screen . All other functions of the radio work. It may have something to do with another component on the CAN Bus has to first inititialise the screen
Raphael, you should wire the RCA adapter to the rear speakers that way you get full range of audio. Hope this helps. Good luck on your audio install.
where should i wire the RCA adapter? to the front or rear speakers? thanks!
Ryan, the ground wire are used to reduce the chances of whining from feedback in the audio system. We would suggest you try hooking the in line rca adapter without the ground connections and only use the ground wire connections if your car stereo is getting whining sounds coming from the speakers. In most instances, the ground wire connection eliminates any feedback. Hope this helps. Good luck.
I’m installing a bluetooth kit and I’m trying to find a mute connection on the HU. I see it’s listed as N/A. Is this a fact or has anyone else had any luck muting the radio?
I’m having trouble with in-line rca adapter (I thinkthat is what is called), it is so you can use the stock stereo and still hook up a system. Anyways on to the problem, my adapter has a positive and negative for the left and right, plus 2 brown wires (the instructions say these are rarely used but if you need to use them to hook them to the same ground that the stereo uses. My question is do i need to use these grounds? Or if it affects the quality of my sound or anything? Thanx for your time.
Orlando, yes if you have a stock radio, you would require a line out converter to provide your EQ or crossover an audio signal. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Do I need a line out converter to get a good signal of the radio to an EQ or crossover from the Mazda3 head unit?
Simon, thanks for the car stereo wiring information contribution!
The Accessory wire is not the Orange/Black with Silver Dots, its the yellow one.
The Orange/Black with Silver Dots is the illumination wire.
Dennis, thanks for the car stereo wiring contribution!
The accessory switch wire orange/black with silver dots is only 12v when the headlights are on. it is not a true accessory wire that turns on with the key. I am currently looking for another wire on the radio that is a true accessory.
and in response to Shawn there is no out for the amp you have to wire in a RCA converter behind the radio
hey wondering if there is an output for an amp?
