Im trying to install a aftermarket stereo that has built in steering wheel controls. I need to know which wires on the original harness controls the original steering wheel controls. I have a 20006 toyota tundra. What color of wire would I be looking for? anyone?
I have an electrical draw even with my audio system turned off. It is enough to kill the battery in 10 hrs. I removed the 30 amp fuse and have had no problems. If I install the fuse it happens again. Any idea what or how the draw is occurring? I have considered installing an aftermarket system and hard wiring it in with its own circuit breaker. I should note that this is not a constant problem as sometimes it will go for a couple of weeks and then start again. It is really frustrating!! Thanks
Dale, as much as we would like to help you, it could be any number of things that is causing your battery to be drained. We advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile alarm installer or knowledgeable mechanic and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2006 Toyota Tundra troubleshooting.
Im going to be installing an aftermarket navigation head unit in my 2006 Toyota Tundra. It has a wire that is suppose to tap in to the parking brake detection switch harness. Do i even need to attach it? where is the wire located? Anyone? Thank you in advance
I’m looking for 12vdc constant power source for an aftermarket stereo install on a 2007 Toyota Tundra 4×4 4.7L. Only solution I’ve come up with is to run a new wire from the battery.
Car Radio Battery Constant 12v+ Wire: Red or Red/Green
Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: Gray
This Is the info i keep finding but the only red wire is a rear speaker wire. I do have a bluish green wire in question but there’s no voltage on it.
Duane, run a primary wire to your steering column and tap the white wire in your ignition switch harness. This white wire will provide you with a constant power source. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2007 Toyota Tundra.
