Do you know which wire is the one for the mute? Thanks
I dont know what to connect the remote amp wire to. The radio constant or radio switched?
Sophie, technically you could connect your 2005 Nissan Altima amplifier turn on wire to the radio switched 12v+ wire. That way your amplifier is on whenever your 2005 Nissan Altima is on and off whenever your 2005 Nissan Altima is off. Just make sure to run an in-line fuse holder with a 1-amp fuse on the amplifier turn on wire. Hope this helps. Good luck with your amplifier install.
Which color wire is it for the memory of the radio. Everytime I turn off my car my radio resets itself. Can someone please help me?
Carlos, the memory wire is the constant power wire (yellow/green). The constant power wire always sends power to the radio to save your radio stations and other audio settings. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Nissan Altima stereo installation.
Is there a way to add an aux input onto a 2005 Altima SL (Bose radio) for MP3 player and/or external SAT radio?
Matt, most late model vehicles do not have inputs to feed an mp3 audio signal to your factory stereo. You would have to install bluetooth transmitter. A bluetooth transmitter will allow you to connect any bluetooth device to your factory radio. This is the easiest and most cost effective to add an audio input into your factory stereo. Here is the bluetooth transmitter you will need:
Bluetooth Transmitter for 2005 Nissan Altima
If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Nissan Altima bluetooth transmitter installation.
I just installed a stereo in my 95 Nissan Altima. But I’m having problems when I turn off the car stereo stays on, even after I take the keys out. Anyone know how to fix this problem??
Manuel, you may have mixed up the battery constant and accessory switched wires. The battery constant always sends power to the radio to save your radio stations and other audio settings. The accessory switched wire sends power to your radio only when the key is in the ignition and your 2005 Nissan Altima is on. Check your wiring and make sure the correct radio wires are hooked up to the correct wires on your factory harness. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Nissan Altima radio installation.
Thanks for the help. The radio works like a charm now. thanks again
Manuel, we are glad we could help you with your 2005 Nissan Altima stereo wiring diagram needs.
What should I connect to be able to see a DVD playing. Even if I have my car in park and the e-brake is up it still doesn’t let me watch a DVD. Can u please help me?
I have a 2002 Nissan Altima. What fuses go to the radio? The radio that I’m trying to install is not powering up, got all the wires matching. I figure it may be a fuse. I dont have the car manual. Any help please.
i just installed an in dash dvd player in my 2002 nissan altima with the bose system which i took out it works fine but the sound out put from the speakers is kinda low compared to when my factory bose is hocked up. and when ever i turn on the ignition then i hear the constant beebing sound from the speakers like it just goes beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeb none stop put when the ignition is off it thoes not do that can any one help me out
Lil T, the reason your in dash DVD player is playing so low could be because the factory Infinity audio system is running on a different impedance (ohm rating). After market stereo head units output audio at 4 ohms while Infinity audio system output audio at 2 ohms. The difference in impedance (ohm rating) can cause your volume to output a higher or lower levels. You may have to remove your Infinity audio 2 ohm speakers and replace them with 4 ohm speakers to match your aftermarket radio. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2002 Nissan Altima stereo installation.
:O ok thank u ill try that to see if it works but u did not say anything about the beebing sound it makes when the ignition is turned on
Lil T, to be honest, we’ve never heard of that happening before so we wouldn’t be able to advise on that. Hopefully someone in the Modified Life community had the same experience and can chime in on that subject. Good luck with your 2005 Nissan Altima radio install.
ok thanks anyway
Lil T, we will do our best to find any information pertaining to your situation and post it here if we find anything.
i installed an aftermarket stereo including the adapter on my 2005 altima. for some reason when i switch it to cd or ipod mode there is no sound, but when i have the radio playing its fine. i tried switching out deck and the same problem occurred. do you know whatcould possibly be wrong
Sega, your 2005 Nissan Altima may have a factory amplifier that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car stereo amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier so that your CD or iPod audio output can be heard. Unfortunately, we do not have this information but maybe someone from the Modified Life community can post that information here. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Nissan Altima amplifier wiring.
i wan to change my standard radio, how can i put an aftermarket radio and keep the same speakers i have, aswell as still be able to use the controls on the steering wheel.
Chris, the easiest way to install an aftermarket stereo into your 2005 Nissan Altima would be to purchase a 2005 Nissan Altima Dash Kit and a 2005 Nissan Altima Wiring Harness.
As for your steering wheel controls, you will need a steering wheel control adapter to keep your factory steering wheel controls:
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Alpine Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Blaupunkt Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Clarion Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Eclipse Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for JVC Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Kenwood Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Pioneer Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Sony Radio
Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Valor Radio

I just buy my 2005 Nissan Altima SE with the 6 CD radio and I want to know if it has a AUX input or and RCA input on the back because I want to listen music with my IPOD.
Benoit, you will need a bluetooth transmitter. A bluetooth transmitter will allow you to connect any bluetooth device to your factory radio. This is the easiest and most cost effective way to add an audio input into your factory stereo. Here is the bluetooth transmitter you will need:

just installed a pioneer in dash dvd/ navigation system in my 2005 Nissan altima. having a problem locating the Speed detection circuit lead. would you know location or color of wire i need to splice in to i dont think its in the radio wire harness. thanks
Brian, if your 2005 Nissan Altima has a Bose radio, use the pink wire in your 2005 Nissan Altima factory radio wire harness. If your 2005 Nissan Altima does NOT have a 5-speed automatic transmission, use the blue/yellow wire behind the instrument cluster. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Nissan Altima speed sense wiring.
ok im looking for color and location of the vss wire on my 2005 nissan altima, to in stall the gps correctly on my pioneer navigation head unit. 2.5S non bose system.
Brian, the vehicle speed sense wire is the pink wire in your 2005 Nissan Altima factory stereo wiring harness. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Nissan Altima navigation installation.
I bought a used 2005 Nissan Altima and noticed that the AM radio reception sucks! I see this seems to be a common challenge. Any ideas on how to fix it?
I just bought a 2002 Nissan Altima for my 17 year old. The car only had 62,000 miles on it and runs great. But the Bose radio doesn’t tune in to a station. You can hear the music but it sounds like an old AM radio. A LOT of static!! Any suggestions, real suggestions, not swap it out or throw it out. What could cause this? I pulled it out from the dash and it seems to be all connected right.
Mike, try checking your antenna cable and your amp turn on wire. Make sure the antenna cable is tightly plugged into your 2002 Nissan Altima stereo and the amplifier turn on wire is well connected. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2002 Nissan Altima stereo troubleshooting.

I’m looking for a wiring diagram for factory bose amp in trunk of my 2005 Nissan Altima. I am trying to hook up aftermarket amp and sub. anyone?
BobM, as much as we would like to help you, most of the car stereo amplifier wiring information listed on our website is provided by our visitors. We currently do not have the 2005 Nissan Altima amplifier wiring information but hopefully someone from our knowledgeable Modified Life community would be able to chime in and help you out.
My car stereo just stopped working. The radio display turns on and shows the channels, cd track and volume but no sound will come out of the speakers. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Shane, double check ALL your fuses using a Automotive Fuse Tester because certain vehicles may have a wire tied into another circuit not labeled as car radio. You may have additional fuse boxes by the driver side of the dash, passenger side of the dash, driver kick panel, passenger kick panel, under the steering column or under the hood. If all of your fuses are good, your 2005 Nissan Altima factory amplifier (if equipped) may be faulty. We suggest you take your car to an experienced audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Nissan Altima radio troubleshooting.
Excellent thread, it’s a lot of help. I have an ’05 Altima. I read that the system is wired at 2 ohms. I ordered a head unit online and purchased front and rear speakers locally. Can I install the speakers first while I wait for my head unit to arrive, or will the larger load damage the factory stereo?
Erik, we suggest you wait for the head unit to arrive. There is a good chance the larger load will damage the factory radio. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Nissan Altima stereo installation.
So the factory speaker are rated at 2 ohm and aftermarket head unit want 4 ohm. Is it still safe to run the aftermarket stereo at factory speaker?
Isaiah, the difference in impedance (ohm rating) can cause your volume to output a higher or lower levels. You will have to remove your audio 2 ohm speakers and replace them with 4 ohm speakers to match your aftermarket radio. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Nissan Altima stereo installation.
i have a 2006 Nissan altima and i was wiring for sub woofers, i had the RCA converter so i can use the stock head unit, using the wiring identification above i hooked it up, all worked good, then the radio wouldn’t turn off when the key was off, then wires or converter sparked and the radio shut off, now the radio doesn’t work at all and neither does the dash lights, what could the problem be? blown fuse?
Pat, double check ALL your fuses using an Automotive Fuse Tester because certain vehicles may have a wire tied into another circuit not labeled as car radio. You may have additional fuse boxes by the driver side of the dash, passenger side of the dash, driver kick panel, passenger kick panel, under the steering column or under the hood. I have a 2005 nissan altima. i read that you have to replace the factory speakers to run a 4ohm aftermarket radio. Does that mean i have to replace the factory tweeters? If i do have to replace the tweeters, is there a easy way just to run the stereo with the tweeters disconnected? anyone?
Hi, I own a 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5S and I’m trying to Install the Pyle PLDN-750D aftermarket double din stereo. i want to keep the stock speakers and add a 10″ subwoofer. Just wanted to know what parts /installation kits I would need and the wiring process for this install. thanks.
Moe, here are the components you need to install an aftermarket single DIN stereo in your 2005 Nissan Altima:
Single DIN Dash Kit for 2005 Nissan Altima
Radio Wire Harness for 2005 Nissan Altima
You will need some aftermarket electronics to hook up a subwoofer to your 2005 Nissan Altima factory stereo. You will need five components:
1. Car Subwoofer
2. Car Subwoofer Box to house your car subwoofer.
3. Car Audio Amplifier that matches your subwoofer power needs and ohm rating.
4. Car Amplifier Wiring Kit that can handle the power needs of your amplifier.
5. RCA Line Out Converter to feed an audio signal from your factory radio to your aftermarket amplifier.
First run all your amplifier power from your car battery to where you plan on mounting your amplifier. Next, run your ground wire from your grounding point to your amplifier. Wire up the RCA Line Out Converter to the rear speaker wires to get a full range audio source. Next, connect one end of your RCA jacks to the Line Out Converter and the other end of the RCA jacks to your amplifier. This will provide an audio signal to your after market amp. Lastly, connect your subwoofer to your after market amplifier using the speaker wire in the amplifier wiring kit. If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Nissan Altima stereo installation.
I put a Kenwood dpx308u in my 2005 nissan altima and I can’t get the radio stations to pick up. I tried hooking the ant cont wire to the factory power antenna wire and it didn’t change anything. What do I need to do?
Joseph, double check ALL your fuses using a Automotive Fuse Tester because certain vehicles may have a wire tied into another circuit not labeled as car radio. You may have additional fuse boxes by the driver side of the dash, passenger side of the dash, driver kick panel, passenger kick panel, under the steering column or under the hood. If ALL of your fuses are good, make sure your antenna plug in tightly plugged into the radio and the antenna power wire is spliced correctly. If you still can not get your antenna turn on, we suggest you take your car to an experienced audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Nissan Altima radio troubleshooting.
Does anyone know if the 2005 Nissan Altima has a in-line fuse in the power supply for the radio?
Hi, I have a 2002 nissan altima 2.5s and I just bought a Pioneer AVH1400BH stereo for it. I did all of the install except connecting the parking brake wire because I can’t seem to figure out which wire it is and where it’s located. Because I can’t, I’m not able to use the DVD player at all.. HELP! Haha thanks!
Ashley, the 2002 Nissan Altima 2.5S parking brake wire is located at the base of the emergency brake. Simply remove your center console and the wire should be located at the base of the e-brake handle. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2002 Nissan Altima 2.5S dvd installation.
What is the best way to connect the remote wire from my amp to my 2005 Nissan Altima stock radio. Amp is only running 300w, 150w to one pioneer 6×9 and 150w to the other 6×9. Thanks.
Daniel, technically you could connect your 2005 Nissan Altima amp turn on wire to the radio switched 12v+ wire. That way your amp is on whenever your 2005 Nissan Altima is on and off whenever your 2005 Nissan Altima is off. Just make sure to run an in-line fuse holder with a 1-amp fuse on the amp turn on wire. Hope this helps. Good luck with your amp install.
