  1. Steve, as far as we know there is no adapter that will give you screen control right at your 2005 Lincoln Navigator stereo. You will need an automotive auxiliary input adapter. This adapter will allow you to input any mp3 player or portable music player into your factory radio. This is the easiest and most cost effective way to add an audio input into your factory stereo. 2. I have a 2005 Lincoln Navigator without the Navigation system. I’m assuming this is the baseline audio system with a 6 disk in-dash CD. Is there an AUX output right from the back of the head unit or is there a matter of splicing one in? Can someone please give me a heads up on the best adapter to buy and will it give me on screen control right at the stereo? Any help would be super-duper and thank you in advance.

  6. Kimberly, we’ve actually never heard of this problem before. The best explanation would probably be an electrical short somewhere. Our advice would be to have an experienced audio installer trace the radio circuit and the associated wiring to find a short. It does take some wiring knowledge, special tools and experience to know what to look for. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Trying to troubleshoot fluctuating volume in the 2005 Navigator original (factory) stereo system. Volume fluctuate and react when window is lowered or raised. Could there be an electrical short between the two? How can this be resolved, without replacing the stereo system? any experiences welcomed. I resolved the battery issue, and so far the stereo does not seem to drain the new battery.

Where can I find information on where the amplifier is located in my 2005 Lincoln Navigator. I am experiencing problems with my soun volume fluctuating, but most of all, the amplifier seems to be causing a drain on my car battery! Please help me. I don’t want a new radio system because it would eliminate most of the functions I love about my Navigator. Please give me some advice. I live in Memphis, Tennessee, and I can’t find anyone to troubleshoot the problem.
