I have a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire. The radio/cd works fine however I recently lost all display on the unit. (station/clock, etc). Any thoughts as to how I can fix this problem? Thanks
Roger, double check ALL your fuses and you will probably find a blown fuse somewhere. Sometimes when you short out your radio fuse, other fuses may also blow out. Hope this helps. Good luck.
I have a 04 sunfire, theres power to the cd deck but theres no sound coming out. we went back and checked all wires and fuses and everything is good.. any Ideas???
Maggie, your 2004 Pontiac Sunfire may have a factory amplifier that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car stereo amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier. Hope this helps. Good luck.
i have a 07 cobalt and need a wiring diagram for the amplifier can u help me please thanks.
Hello, I want to get a sound system installed in my 2004 Sunfire, and I was told I would need to purchase a cradle to hold the unit so as not to set off the airbags. Any idea what this would be called specifically?

Anybody know how to connect to the ignition? I just installed an after market radio but can’t get it to turn off with the car. I feel like I’ve tried everything by now.
Broch, it sounds like you don’t have your amplifier turn on wire hooked up correctly. Connect your 2007 Pontiac G5 amplifier turn on wire to the radio switched 12v+ wire. That way your amplifier is on whenever your 2007 Pontiac G5 is on and off whenever your 2007 Pontiac G5 is off. Just make sure to run an in-line fuse holder with a 1-amp fuse on the amplifier turn on wire. Hope this helps. Good luck with your amplifier install.
My son had to replace his 2004 Pontiac Sunfire battery and now radio is “locked.” Stealer (Dealer) wants $100 to “unlock” it. Seems like a ripoff to me. Is there any way for owner to do this? This is NOT a stolen radio or car! He just got married, started a new job, and can’t afford the $100 charge right now. Thanks in advance
Ramjet, its sounds like your radio may be in safe mode or anti-theft mode. You will need a unlock code to get your radio working again. Radio security codes are usually written in your car manual or given to you when you purchase the vehicle. If you do not have the radio security code, you would have to obtain it from the local Pontiac dealer. Hope this helps. Good luck with unlocking your radio.
My daughter has a 2003 Cavalier. Her radio died so I was replacing with a none standard model. The new cd/radio requires a switch 12+ wire which I discovered is not included in the 2003 Cavalier radio wiring harness. I was told to run a wire to the fuse box but am not sure where I should hook it in on the fuse box? Any help would be most appreciated. I think others have ran into the same issue
Dwaine, run a wire to the steering column and use the brown wire in the ignition switch harness. This will provide a switched power source for your radio. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier radio installation.
purchased a 2004 pontiac sunfire. found out it has a 2001 chevy cavalier radio. Any way to make this work. the radio is locked

I drive a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire and I am replaciing the speakers. Are there any tips that I can get 2 not screw up anything?? Also how do i properly remove the front door panel?? (it is the 2 door model?
Thanks
Adrian, most door panel removals can be done with a Phillips screwdriver and by simply pulling the door panel off by hand. Just look for screws at the edge of the door panel, near the door handle or inside the door pull. Once you remove all the screws or plastic tabs, you should be able to pull the door panel off with ease. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2004 Pontiac Sunfire speaker installation.
I have a 2004 sunfire. Where is the factory amplifier located?
I have a 2004 Pontiac sunfire. The radio works fine, but the CD player doesn’t accept any Cd? Where can i find a new radio?
Steph, you will probably have to source the 2004 Pontiac Sunfire stereo from your local Pontiac dealer or from a local junk yard. Most retailers do not sell factory radios. Your other option is to replace your factory stereo with an aftermarket car radio. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2004 Pontiac Sunfire stereo replacement.
I have a 2004 sunfire and wanted to have an aftermarket stereo installed but i was told i needed a special tool and a new cradle for the stereo
Justin, yes you will need a radio dash kit to make your 2004 Pontiac Sunfire stereo installation look factory:

I have a 2005 pontiac sunfire and i’m installing a new radio deck but need to run my red wire to my ignition, i don’t know where to run the wire to
Matt, run a primary wire to your steering column and use the brown wire in your ignition switch harness. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2004 Pontiac Sunfire stereo installation.
I have a 1998 pontiac sunfire which i have installed an aftermarket head unit in. The head unit works and 3 out of 4 speaker’s work independently. Yet when all 4 speaker’s are plugged in together there is no sound at all. This has never happened to me in the past and i am very much lost with what might cause this. Any advice or knowledge you could pass on would be much appreciated. thanks.
I have a 2004 pontiac sunfire. I have been told repeatedly that I need to purchase a computer module to make this work… why? And I was told also about needing a cradle to avoid setting off airbags as well. Is this accurate information? anyone?
As some of the others have said….the display went out on my daughter’s 2004 pontiac Sunfire. I have always wired aftermarkets straight but have read something about cutting the plugs off may effect airbags or other things with the car. is this true or can I use the wiring diagram shown above for my connections?? anyone know?
Have a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire and am installing Pioneer CD player. Bought the wiring harness and hooked everything up but it does not stay on. Face lights up for a brief moment and then shuts off. Checked all the wiring with my test light and the red wire that says 12V iginition has no power to it. Any suggestions?
