Jay, car alarm removal really depends on the alarm installer, whether they charge per hour for labor, if the alarm installer charges per job and how complicated the wiring is on your vehicle. Most jobs cost anywhere from $100 to a couple of hundred dollars. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2003 Honda Pilot car alarm removal.
I have a 2003 Honda Pilot with an after market alarm system that the dealer tells me is going bad because it triggers the back tailgate open indicator light on the dash. He recommended I take it to an alarm installer to have it removed. How difficult and costly is this and will it affect the factory alarm that came with the Pilot? The dealer doesn’t feel comfortable doing it himself???
I have the same problem with Mike on my 2004 honda Pilot. I want it to be fixed if there is way to repair. Can I bring it to those shop who install car alarm? anyone?
Mike, as much as we would like to help you, not all car alarms are installed the same way. Different brands and different setups will call for different wiring. Our advice is to take your car to a qualified alarm installer and ask them to remove your car alarm because it does take some wiring knowledge and experience to know what to do. Hope this helps. Good luck on your 2004 Honda Pilot alarm removal.
The factory installed alarm on my 04 pilot seems to be going off on its own. Sometimes it is several times in a row within a 30 minute time frame. Sometimes it is OK for days then it happens again. The car is parked where there is no noise or disturbance and there are new batteries in the remotes. Had to dealer for diagnostic test. The alarm failed at the master window switch which I had paid to replace. The next day, same problem. Back to the dealer again and the alarm would not go off so they could not address further. Is there a way to disconnect the alarm so my wife could take the car to work (school teacher) and not be interrupted by the car alarm going off? If not, what are my options to resolve? Help appreciated,
