  1. David Westmoreland

when replacing front door speakers on 2004 Monte Carlo, is it necessary to remove entire door panel, or can grill area be removed on it’s own?

  2. David, most late model cars require you to remove the entire door panel to access the speaker. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  3. Hello, i turned my radio on and it lights up as design but there is no audio from the speakers. I checked the CD player and it does the same thing no audio. It is a factory model radio/cd player. Im wondering if the amp in the trunk has died. Please help if you had this problem. Thanks

  4. Jeff, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by pulling each fuse and making sure it isn’t blown. If all of your fuses are good, your factory amplifier may be faulty or the audio output from your radio is faulty. We suggest you take your car to an experienced audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo radio troubleshooting.

  5. I recently changed the battery in my 2004 Monte Carlo, since then the factory radio/cd player won’t do anything including power up. is there some kind of reset or something that will get it going again?

  6. Buster, its sounds like your 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo radio may be in safe mode or anti-theft mode. Your radio goes into safe mode or anti-theft mode when it loses power. You will need a unlock code to get your radio working again. Radio security codes are usually written in your car manual or given to you when you purchase the vehicle. If you do not have the radio security code, you would have to obtain it from the local Chevrolet dealer. Hope this helps. Good luck with unlocking your 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo radio.

  7. I have a 2004 monte carlo ss . The speakers started crackling and then going in and out. Even Did it when the car was off. All of them. Now it doesn’t work at all. I checked fuses, all good. When I moved the wires on the amp it went in and out. I need to know what kind of amp they put in the car originally. The one in it is a panasonic. Has two plugs that go into the amp. I have 170,000 mi on the car and don’t want to spend alot of money if possible. I just want a normal stereo back. Please help, anyone? Thank you! Matthew
