Hello, I have a 2003 Toyota Sienna and i am putting new speakers in, ( subs to be exact) i have the subs, box, and amp but i am looking for a new stereo. My friend said he would help me install all the parts once i got them all because he does alot of work on cars. But he said he has never done work on a mini van. my question is what to get. i do not want to buy a stereo and then have it not fit, or not work for some reason. I have a 2003 toyota sienna. I am hoping to install aftermarket subwoofer and amplifier to the stock unit. what is the simplest way to run the remote and rca from amp to stock set up? I am open for suggestions, please I need help.
Viet, yes you can hook up your an amplifier and subwoofer to your stock stereo. You will need some aftermarket electronics to hook up a subwoofer to your 2003 Toyota Sienna factory stereo. You will need five components:
1. Car Subwoofer
2. Car Subwoofer Box to house your car subwoofer.
3. Car Audio Amplifier that matches your subwoofer power needs and ohm rating.
4. Car Amplifier Wiring Kit that can handle the power needs of your amplifier.
5. RCA Line Out Converter to feed an audio signal from your factory radio to your aftermarket amplifier.
First run all your amplifier power from your car battery to where you plan on mounting your amplifier. Next, run your ground wire from your grounding point to your amplifier. Wire up the RCA Line Out Converter to the rear speaker wires to get a full range audio source. Next, connect one end of your RCA jacks to the Line Out Converter and the other end of the RCA jacks to your amplifier. This will provide an audio signal to your after market amp. Lastly, connect your subwoofer to your after market amplifier using the speaker wire in the amplifier wiring kit. If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps.
