  1. Seth, most vehicles have a factory hole with a rubber or plastic grommet at the firewall. This is usually the standard place to run a power wire through the firewall. If one of these holes are not available or not large enough, a hole will have to be drilled to accommodate your power wire. Choose something on the engine side of the firewall as reference and try to match it up on the interior side of the firewall. This will make sure you do not drill through anything important. Then drill a hole somewhere near or beside your reference point. Make sure to use a firewall grommet to prevent the power wire from chaffing on the firewall that could potentially cause a short. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2002 Pontiac Grand Am amplifier installation.

  2. i know this is probably the dumbest question but where the hell is the hole under the 2002 Pontiac Grand Am dash to run the power for the subs? do i need to drill one?

  6. Nate, make sure your factory amplifier turn-on wire is wired up to your aftermarket stereo. The 2002 Pontiac Grand Am factory amp turn on wire is the pink wire located at your factory stereo wire harness. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2002 Pontiac Grand Am stereo installation.

  7. I am hooking up an aftermarket stereo in a 2002 grand am and I don’t have the wiring harness. What do I have to do to get the stock monsoon amp to turn on in the car so I can get the speakers to work?

  8. Anthony, its sounds like your 2002 Pontiac Grand Am radio may be in safe mode or anti-theft mode. You will need a unlock code to get your radio working again. Radio security codes are usually written in your car manual or given to you when you purchase the vehicle. If you do not have the radio security code, you would have to obtain it from the local Pontiac dealer. Hope this helps. Good luck with unlocking your 2002 Pontiac Grand Am radio.

  9. i own a 2002 grand am gt with a monsoon stereo cd. I had to remove it to replace the ignition witch.i put the radio back in and when i went to start the car the volume and tune button on radio do not work nor does the radio display? Any ideas? Radio volume stays on 1 setting, only when you hit the scv button at highway speed does the volume adjust. Thanks.

  10. The illumination light on my radio has disappeared. Only the clock light works but the light that shows the radio station etc have stopped illuminating. It is strange that one part works but the other does not. I noticed this a couple of months ago immediately after i used the arrow button on the stereo to fast forward a CD I was playing. could you help me on this please? Thanks
