Blake, technically you could connect your 2002 GMC Sierra C1500 amplifier turn on wire to the radio switched 12v+ wire. That way your amplifier is on whenever your 2002 GMC Sierra C1500 is on and off whenever your 2002 GMC Sierra C1500 is off. Just make sure to run an in-line fuse holder with a 1-amp fuse on the amplifier turn on wire. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2002 GMC Sierra C1500 amplifier install.
I am installing a 10″ sub and amp and i have everything done except for the remote line. The manual says yellow is the remote turn on 12v and the rear left (-). I know that the yellow wire behind the radio (oem) is the rear left so where is the remote turn on?
Louie, one idea may be that your amplifier may be too weak to power the two 12″ subwoofers and that may be the reason it keeps going into protection mode. Try wiring one 12″ subwoofer to the amplifier and turn your amp up to the same level as you did before. If the amplifier doesn’t go into protection mode than you may need a more powerful amplifier to power two 12″ subwoofers. Hope this helps. Good luck with your amp troubleshooting.
im hooking up an amp for two twelves my amp keeps going into protection mode when i turn up the volume no pinched wires, good ground good 12 volt connectiuon at battery terminal with inline fuse im out of ideas i had to use an audio output converter but all wires are correct i think im out of ideas anybody??????????
Shearl, its sounds like your radio may be in safe mode or anti-theft mode. You will need a unlock code to get your radio working again. Radio security codes are usually written in your car manual or given to you when you purchase the vehicle. If you do not have the radio security code, you would have to obtain it from the local GMC dealer. Hope this helps. Good luck with unlocking your radio.
I bought a GMC SIERRA 1999 4WD and I need the code to unlock it.Its the factory with radio and CD
I just got an Ipod and was wondering if there is a way to wire it into the back of the radio and use the AUX button? i dont really care for those transmitters for ipods so im looking for a hardwire connection option.
