Gary, most late model vehicles do not have aux output on the factory radio to feed an audio signal to your aftermarket amplifier. You would have to install a line out converter to supply an audio output. Here is the Line-Out Converter you need:
2-Channel Speaker to RCA Line Out Converter
When splicing in the RCA Line Out Converter, tap your factory rear speaker wires to get a full range audio source. We suggest you invest in some solid wire taps that wont come loose. These wire tap connectors will allow you to tap into wires without cutting and installs in seconds by hand with no crimping or tools required. If you install a line out converter, your rear speakers will still work properly. If you’ve never installed mobile audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced car audio installer. Jerry, double check ALL your fuses using an Automotive Fuse Tester because certain vehicles may have a wire tied into another circuit not labeled as car radio. You may have additional fuse boxes by the driver side of the dash, passenger side of the dash, driver kick panel, passenger kick panel, under the steering column or under the hood. If all of your fuses are good, your 2002 Cadillac DTS factory amplifier (if equipped) may be faulty. I just put in a flip out tv radio in my 2002 cadillac dts….the radio comes on right……but no sound comes out the speakers….what’s wrong ?
Cedric, technically you could connect your 2002 Cadillac Deville amplifier turn on wire to the accessory switched 12v+ wire. That way your amplifier is on whenever your 2002 Cadillac Deville is on and off whenever your 2002 Cadillac Deville is off. Run a wire to the steering column and use the orange wire in the ignition switch harness. Just make sure to run an in-line fuse holder with a 1-amp fuse on the amplifier turn on wire. I recently replaced the battery on my 2002 Cadillac DHS. Few weeks later, the radio system stopped working. It will illuminate for a couple of seconds after it’s turned on, will show radio station number but no audio, then the display will die till you switch the ignition again. Clock display still work, but radio won’t work with key in the on or off position. Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
