I am trying to install the 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage radio into another car, but the thing is I need to ground the radio and since there is no ground wire on this radio how do you ground it to the chasis?

  2. Nelson, you have to ground your aftermarket radio to the chassis (vehicle frame) when you don’t have a factory ground wire in the stereo wire harness. Simply ground your wire to the chassis (look below).

    1. Find some bare metal on your vehicle (somewhere near your factory radio harness). Make sure this bare metal touches the chassis (frame) of the vehicle.

    2. Connect a ring terminal to the black wire coming off your aftermarket radio harness.

    3. Use a self tapping screw to attach the black wire with ring terminal to the bare metal.

Hope this helps. Good luck with grounding your car stereo.

  3. I’m trying to install a amplifier into my car… exept i cant find a spot in the firewall to run a cable to the battery any help on where to put it, or where to put a hole in the firewall?

  4. Cesar, most vehicles have a factory hole with a rubber or plastic grommet at the firewall. This is usually the standard place to run a power wire through the firewall. If one of these holes are not available or not large enough, a hole will have to be drilled to accommodate your power wire. Choose something on the engine side of the firewall as reference and try to match it up on the interior side of the firewall. This will make sure you do not drill through anything important. Then drill a hole somewhere near or beside your reference point. Hope this helps. Good luck with your amplifier installation.

  5. i just bought a JVC KD-S37 CD Receiver and i have a problem finding the memory connection to my 1999 Mitsubishi Mirage

  6. This is the wiring on my car:

    Right Rear + = Aqua
Right Rear – = Yellow with Green stripe
    Right Front + = Red
Right Front – = Skinny Blue
Left Rear + = Yellow with BLUE stripe (not brown)
Left Rear – = Yellow with Red stripe
Left Front + = Red with White stripe
Left Front – = Red with Blue stripe
Ignition switch (ACC) 12V = Thick Blue
    Constant 12V = Red w/ Black stripe
Antenna Power – Whatever is left (I think Green w/ Brown stripe)

What was weird for me is that my aftermarket device had a thick wire for the constant 12V and the mirage had a skinny one, while it was the same opposite situation with the ignition switch, but putting those together how I have outlined above is correct. I also don’t have a power antenna where it will raise out of the car but I had to make sure and connect the Antenna Power wire to my new Antenna Power wire and everything started working.
