  1. Kenneth, the reason you cannot disarm your 2001 Mazda Protege is probably because something was damaged when you popped the driver door lock. The factory alarm is tied into the driver door key lock cylinder and you may have damaged the disarming function of the alarm module. Normally, you can use your car key to unlock the driver door and disarm the factory alarm at the same time. You may have to replace the driver door lock cylinder and anything tied into it that was damaged. We suggest you take your car to an experienced mechanic and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2001 Mazda Protege alarm troubleshooting.

  2. I locked my keys in my car and had pop a lock get it open (drivers side). Now I can’t disarm my car alarm and it won’t start. I’m assuming the alarm is factory installed. There is a flashing red light on the dashboard and the car honks when I try to start the car. When I turn the key there is no engine sound like it wants to start. Is there a way to disarm or reset the alarm. Also my power door lock button no longer locks the cars drivers side.

  3. is the wiring diagram for the 2003 protege lx the same as the 2001 protege lx?
i cannot find the 2003 diagram anywhere..

    thanks
