i have a quick question. so i am trying to hook up my speaker system and all i need is to hook up the amp to the remote wire, but there seems to not be a remote wire. I also hook it to another one i think it was the ground wire but it stayed on the whole time and drained my battery adn that is why i need the one that makes the amp turn on when the radio or car turns on.
thanks
Jahti, technically you could connect your 2000 Toyota 4Runner amplifier turn on wire to the radio switched 12v+ wire. That way your amplifier is on whenever your 2000 Toyota 4Runner is on and off whenever your 2000 Toyota 4Runner is off. Just make sure to run an in-line fuse holder with a 1-amp fuse on the amplifier turn on wire. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
I’m wiring in a new stereo to my 4-Runner. would anyone know of the correct cooresponding wires remaining? .. All other wires are obvious..
1 – Ignition-switch controlled 12 V supply
2 – System control terminal of power amp, OR auto-antenna relay control terminal (max300 mA 12 V DC).
The sound system on my 2000 Toyota 4Runner won’t come ON at all. Fuses are OK?????? Any ideas???? Thanks.
LSand, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by pulling each fuse and making sure it is not blown. If all of your fuses are good, your factory amplifier may be faulty or the audio output from your radio is faulty. We suggest you take your car to an experienced audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2000 Toyota 4Runner radio troubleshooting.
My 2000 Toyota 4runner radio /cd quit working and I tried a new fuse and that wasn’t the problem. I am a woman and no nothing much about cars. Can someone please help me? Thanks
Fran, we suggest you take your car to an experienced audio installer and have them troubleshoot your radio. It may be something as minor as a blown fuse or you may need a new radio. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2000 Toyota 4Runner stereo troubleshooting.
