  1. on the 2000 pontiac grand am se wiring. how can i tell which yellow wire is which since there are two of them. also there are two brown wires which is which. anyone?

  2. Dave, most late model vehicles do not have RCA outputs on the factory radio to feed an audio signal to your aftermarket amplifier. You would have to install a line out converter to supply an audio output. Here is the Line-Out Converter you need:

Scosche 2-Channel Speaker to RCA Line Out Converter

When splicing in the RCA Line Out Converter, tap your factory rear speaker wires to get a full range audio source. We suggest you invest in some solid wire taps that wont come loose. These wire tap connectors will allow you to tap into wires without cutting and installs in seconds by hand with no crimping or tools required. If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2000 Pontiac Grand Am amplifier installation.

  3. Hey there ModifiedLife, i just installed my new deck and amp with subs and new speakers all around, My LF RF speakers work great but my 6×9’s in the rear crackle i had a guy tell me i had them hooked up wrong, so i went with the wiring diagram i had from my Haynes Manual and it still crackles at certain volumes… there was 2 plugs per speaker so i wired in the negatives from both and the possitvies from both and it still crackles… can you help me out please.

  4. My FM radio works but my AM radio does not. I installed a new radio and have the same problem. Could the antenna be a problem? Is there an amp somewhere?

  5. Bradley, technically you could connect your 2000 Pontiac Grand Am amplifier turn on wire to the radio switched 12v+ wire. That way your amplifier is on whenever your 2000 Pontiac Grand Am is on and off whenever your 2000 Pontiac Grand Am is off. Just make sure to run an in-line fuse holder with a 1-amp fuse on the amplifier turn on wire. Hope this helps. Good luck with your amplifier install.

  6. I just installed a new stereo and everything works fine but i cant get my sub to work. the amplifier wont turn on. where do i need to install the remote wire?

  7. Shawn, double check your battery constant wire is hooked up correctly. The only reason the memory would not work is if the constant wire is not hooked up right. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2000 Pontiac Grand Am stereo installation.

  8. i took the stock stereo out of a 2000 pontiac grand am and everything works except the memory im not sure what im doing wrong

  9. Tony, our advice is to remove the aftermarket cd player and re-install your stock radio. If everything works again then there was a problem with your radio installation. If after re-installing your stock radio, you’re still having lighting problems then re-check every single fuse and test all your relays in your vehicle. If you’re still having problems then you may have to get your vehicle tested by a professional mechanic. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  10. i recently installed an aftermarket cd player in my 2000 grand am gt, after doing this, my dash lights(gauge cluster lights) do not light up, neither do my tailights, parking lights, or fog lights, nor do they flash when i lock and unlock the car with the keyless entry, i checked all the fuses and relays everything seems okay. any suggestions?
