i hooked up an after market jvc radio and now my dash illumination light is out.i have got the wiring right except the dimmer wire, could that be the reason and if so where will that one go as i have got all the wires from the jvc connected?
Shane, some late model vehicles require wiring up the dimmer and illumination wires in order for the dash lights to work properly. Hope this helps. Good luck.
I hooked up a JVC after market Radio. I left My Illumination and Dimmer wires capped off. Hey radio works great the schematic is accurate. Now for some reason the dash illumination light will not come on. Checked voltage from dimmer to radio . It checks out. No fuses are blown. I believe the circuit in question is fused under the hood in the tail light fuse. It is ok. from what I understand this is not a rare occurrence. Any helpfull tips could help.
