do i need something new for my pioneer stereo i had a infinity stock in my durango 1998 hooked my pioneer up there is no sound at all what am i doing wrong here anyone no
Kim, your vehicle may have a factory amplifier that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car stereo amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier. Unfortunately, we don’t have this information but maybe someone from the Modified Life community can post that information here. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Kim, after making the connections above, try using the left over green wire and hook up your amp trigger wire to it. This wire should turn on your factory amp to produce sound. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I am curious if any one knows the output of the infinity amp that came installed in my 1998 durango?
can some one tell me how to ground this new stereo I have if there is ground wire coming from the vehicle.. 98 durango..please..
If it says ground wire n/a– does that mean you do not need to connect a ground wire when installing the stereo
Bob, you have to ground your aftermarket radio to the chassis (vehicle frame) when you don’t have a factory ground wire in the stereo wire harness. Simply ground your wire to the chassis (look below).
1. Find some bare metal on your vehicle (somewhere near your factory radio harness). Make sure this bare metal touches the chassis (frame) of the vehicle.
2. Connect a ring terminal to the black wire coming off your aftermarket radio harness.
3. Use a self tapping screw to attach the black wire with ring terminal to the bare metal.
Hope this helps. Good luck with grounding your car stereo.

I have a 98 Dodge Durango. I installed my Alpine stereo and the radio worked great. My cd player was acting up kept getting error but just figured something was wrong. I tried useing the Aux for my mp3 alls I got was a muffled sound outa my suwoofer. Previously worked fine in my jeep. Thinking I had bad luck I bought a new Alpine and again radio works and sounds great but cd player is muffled and only through subwoofer. Any help would be awesome.
Hey guys I’m hooking up new speakers in my 1998 Dodge Durango and I’m on the left rear door. I’m seeing brown with yellow stripe wire and brown with bright blue stripe wire. can anyone tell me which is positive and which is negative?
What do I hook the amp trigger wire to turn on factory amp in my 1998 dodge durango?
Larry, use the remote turn-on wire on your aftermarket stereo wire harness and wire it to the green wire on your factory radio wire harness. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 1998 Dodge Durango stereo installation.
