  1. I would like to keep the original in dash head unit for my ’97 Buick Riviera. I would like to know is there a head unit that will fit where the ash tray or/ and CD holder are just beneath the head unit? If it is possible I would like to take out one or both of the items in this area and replace it with a unit and can I keep the volume control on the steering wheel operational with a new unit? anyone?

  2. Tyrone, you may have mixed up the battery constant and accessory switched wires. The battery constant always sends power to the radio to save your radio stations and other audio settings. The accessory switched wire sends power to your radio only when the key is in the ignition and your 1997 Buick Riviera is on. Check your wiring and make sure the correct radio wires are hooked up to the correct wires on your factory harness. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 1997 Buick Riviera radio installation.

  3. i have a dual xd1222 and i dont know what to do with my memory wire so the radio restarts every time the car is cut on or off pls help

  4. Brandon, technically you could connect your 1997 Buick Riviera amplifier turn on wire to the radio switched 12v+ wire. That way your amplifier is on whenever your 1997 Buick Riviera is on and off whenever your 1997 Buick Riviera is off. Just make sure to run an in-line fuse holder with a 1-amp fuse on the amplifier turn on wire. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 1997 Buick Riviera amplifier install.
