  1. Kevin, technically you could connect your 1996 Toyota Camry amplifier remote wire to the radio switched 12v+ wire. That way your amplifier is on whenever your 1996 Toyota Camry is on and off whenever your 1996 Toyota Camry is off. Just make sure to run an in-line fuse holder with a 1-amp fuse on the amplifier remote wire. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 1996 Toyota Camry amplifier installation.

Hi i’m replacing the car stereo on 1996 toyota camry with pioneer, i got all the wiring match, but i have no idea which wire should i connect from the remote on pioneer or the amplifier to? it seem to me the 1996 toyota camry stereo has no remote wire or may be they call it different name??? Please let me know.

  3. Hello, regarding the audio wiring diagram for a 1996 Camry. The ground wire is black (not brown as noted). I found that if I use the brown wire for ground, my 16 year old daughter will quickly point out “hey dad, there’s smoke coming out of the radio, is that right?” :-) Fortunately we were installing a pretty inexpensive unit in the car! Jeff
