  1. I worked on my 1996 pathfinder this weekend and found the colors at the actual door were opposite of your information. It is my understanding that the Left Side of the car is the Drivers Side. My Passenger side (Right Side) front wires were Green and Red and my Driver Side (Left Side) front was Brown with Blue/White.

Thanks for the information on + and – those appeared correct, which was the most important part.

  2. Hi, thought I would try to do it myself…(wishing I hadn’t), looking at your description for the wiring colors, they don’t match with my 96 Pathfinder. Do you think there is a difference between Canadian & US Models? I don’t have any brown, orange or yellow wires at all! Just curious.

  3. Daphne, it is possible that the Canadian model is different from the U.S. model. The car stereo wiring diagrams featured on Modified Life are for US models only. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  4. Hi, My problem is almost the same as Daphne my colors dont match, but when i traced them all and figured out which one was what and pluged in the aftermarket radio no sound comes out. Now when i hard-wire the speakers to the unit sound comes out so i know that the head unit is good. Then when i plug in the original radio sound comes out of the speakers. I was wondering if the stock security system will prevent the sound from comming out some how?

  5. Also all other functions on the aftermarket head-unit work perfectly with no problems. I checked the grounds and they are all good.
