  1. Randy, technically you could connect your 1996 Mercury Tracer amplifier turn on wire to the radio switched 12v+ wire. That way your amplifier is on whenever your 1996 Mercury Tracer is on and off whenever your 1996 Mercury Tracer is off. Just make sure to run an in-line fuse holder with a 1-amp fuse on the amplifier turn on wire. Hope this helps. Good luck with your amplifier install.
