I’ve got a 97 F250, the original stereo work fine, but no CD. I replaced the head unit, and it powers up fine. I’ve had to look through several diff. diagrams, and it seems to be a early 97, with 96 harness. Problem is I get no sound out of the speakers. I’ve hooked up a external speaker, and the stereo is putting out sound. I’ve yet to find a diagram that shows the proper colors that I’ve got for speaker wires. Can you help????? Thanks, Michael
Michael, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by using an Automotive Fuse Tester and making sure all of your fuses are not blown. If all of your fuses are good, your 1997 Ford F250 may have a factory amplifier that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car stereo amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier to output sound from your speakers. Hope this points you in the right direction.
