Michael, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by using an Car Fuse Tester and making sure all of your fuses are not blown. If all of your fuses are good, your 1993 Chevrolet Silverado factory amplifier (if equipped) may be faulty. We suggest you take your car to an experienced audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 1993 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 radio troubleshooting.
I’m a novice with car audio. My 1993 Chevrolet silverado 1500 with original radio makes no sound, but the radio ‘works’ with power, display, tuning, etc. It looks like the crazy thing is in 2 parts (dash mounted controller and guts underneath). Any suggestions for troubleshooting?
Raymond, here is the replacement bulb you need:

I thought the radio in my 93 silverado 1500 had stopped working. I bought a different radio at Best Buy about 3 years ago and they installed it to find all four speakers had gone bad and that was the problem. I left the new radio installed, but now I want to re-install my original radio, when they installed the new radio they cut off my connectors on the wiring harness. Does anyone know where to find this wiring. Thanks
Clifton, thanks for the 1993 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 power cable routing information contribution!
Justin. I did the same thing with my 93 silverado K1500. I found a small hole just large enough for the power cable under the dash on the passenger side way up in the corner. It will come out right near one of your hood springs/connections..
I have a 03 Chevy Silverado 1500HD. When I start the truck, there is a white noise (static) coming from the speakers. I thought it was the stereo, but I changed it and it is still there. I would like to check the amp next, but I cannot find it. If someone can tell me where it is, I would appreciate it. Additionally, if someone else has experienced the white noise and has a solution, please let me know. Thank you.

My car radio froze, I can turn it on and off, but no sound or volume nor I can’t change channels.
Shamus, thanks for the 1993 Chevrolet Silverado C1500 wiring information contribution!
I used the grommet with the radio cord running through it for my amp cable. It’s on the passenger side under the radiator reservoir i do believe, just cut a slit in the grommet and u can feed the amp cable through it. Hope this helps
Adam, it sounds like you purchased a radio harness adapter. That adapter is for replacing the main radio head unit and should plug into the harness behind the main radio. Our advice is to take your vehicle to an experienced mobile audio installer and have them install your radio. Hope this helps. Good luck.
ok..so i have a cd player i’m wanting in my 1993 chevy silverado 1500 ect cab…i took the equalizer/cassette player out im planning on putting the cd player there…i buy an adapter connector thing from walmart that says it’s for the truck… i crawl under my dash…and i find what looks like an amp… so i unplug the radio and i already unplugged the equalizer but the thing doesn’t fit…its so odd looking i have never seen any thing like it b4…. am i looking at the right place or is there somewhere else? im confused at this point.
Dude to get this done. I had to drill my own hole. There just is not anyway to install it with out a drill.
What’s up yall? I have a 1993 Silverado. Man, I’m trying to run the power cable for an amp through the firewall, but the firewall is pretty solid. I can’t find a hole that doesn’t already have stuff enclosing it. If somebody out there has ran an amp for a 1993 Silverado, then maybe they can help by lending me some advice to where they ran theirs. I appreciate it.
