My 93 Cadillac deville has done the same thing with the radio. The clock is functional, yet the power button doesn’t seem to want to turn on. The power to the radio will turn on if it’s pushed in the right spot. By wedging it we have been able to use it, but now it won’t work at all. Is there anyway to take the dash peice off to see if the power button is connect properly?

  2. David, its sounds like your 1993 Cadillac Deville radio may be in safe mode or anti-theft mode. You will need a unlock code to get your radio working again. Radio security codes are usually written in your car manual or given to you when you purchase the vehicle. If you do not have the radio security code, you would have to obtain it from the local Cadillac dealer. Hope this helps. Good luck with unlocking your 1993 Cadillac Deville radio.

  3. My 1993 Cadillac Deville has a standard factory installed FM-AM Cassette Player Radio which was working like new. I turned the radio off because I had to removed the car battery to replace the water pump. Within nine hours I replaced the battery and drove the vehicle. The radio does not work; the clock does. I checked the fuse block and all fuses are good. I went to another 1993 Deville with the exact type working radio and removed it. I installed it in my vehicle and now it is the same as my old one, which does not work. I have the same exact problem; the clock on the radio is fully operational. The radio and cassette player are not. Someone else advised me it might be my amplifier. If my vehicle has an amplifier, it is from the factory because it is not visible and I am certain this vehicle is completely stock. I am very knowledgeable about the interaction of electronic components. My radio is not receiving a signal. My cassette player is not receiving power. If there is a hidden amplifier or a second unit, I feel it cannot be the amplifier because an amplifier can only increase sound, it cannot create sound, Technically speaking an amp cannot produce sound it can only increase the intensity of sound waves. My radio is not sending a signal to the amplifier to amplify. My problem is, my radio and my cassette player is not powering on or up. It appears the circuit that supplies power to the radio and cassette player is not allowing electricity to that part of the unit. However, my clock, which is on the same power fuse as the radio and cassette player, is working fine. I have been told by others that GM has an anti theft device that prevents the removing of a radio from a Cadillac to another Cadillac unless one has a code from the factory. I am thinking because my battery was out of the car for nine hours, the computer might think someone has swapped or replaced my radio and has blocked it from playing. I hope this clears up what the radio is not doing. My radio is not showing any stations nor is it receiving any radio signals.

  4. you can use double dins if you know what your doing but the car is only a din and a half so a single din flip out dvd player is best bet but for the double din just cut the bottom trim out of the wooden plastic that goes around the radio and put it in but with no bolts.. when u put the plastic piece back in it will secure the radio nice an tight though u may need to tape or whatever you want to the radio if it sticks out far enough to where you see the metal

  5. can I use a 7Inch In Dash DVD Radio to replace the factory car radio for a 1993 cadillac deville?

If not then what size radio can be used to fill in the space?
