I am trying to figure out what the small plug (light blue and orange wire) is for on my 2008 Chevy Colorado. It plugs in to the back of my factory radio beside the larger radio wire plug.
i am looking to replace the factory 2006 chevrolet colorado stereo with a sony xplod deck, i was told i need to buy a 100 wiring harness to be able to do this? is that right or what? can i bypass that by just splicing them?

I am trying to hook up a new head unit for my 2006 chevy colorado. i hooked up all the wires except the 12v switched and illumination. i know i have to wire the 12v switch to the ignition switch harness but what color wire do i connect it with? also is the illumination wire neccesary for an aftermarket stereo?
