are they non amplified or amplified systems….the reason i ask is bc my xterra is a non rockford system, does not say rockford on the speakers, tweeters, or cd player, but on the factory amp behind my dash there is a sticker saying rockford corporation. I need a cable to hook the pioneer 500bt navi to my car, and it asks to specify if it is amplified, or non amplified (rockford or not)
Thank you
can you tell me how to bypass the factory amp in an 02 nissas xterra? it does not say what kind of amp it is but when i hook up a stereo to it there is no sound coming from the speakers at all. we even hooked the stereo up to another vehicle and it worked just fine. please help ASAP!!
Monica, your 2002 Nissan Xterra may have a factory amplifier that needs to be turned on by your radio. The car stereo amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier. Unfortunately, we do not have this information but maybe someone from the Modified Life community can post that information here. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2002 Nissan Xterra stereo troubleshooting.
My moms back right was orange and black-pink or something like that. So I was making sure the voltages were correct and it was odd that on the rear right the solid was negative and the striped was positive. I made sure trice that I was getting a positive voltage with the radio on because this set up would say I was creating a negative voltage that would hurt the entire system. I really could not believe that SOMEHOW this vehicle came with a stock system that had the wires mixed up. Yes factory speakers are cheap and will break, but I hate to think this is the reason all 4 of my mother’s speakers failed. Than again, it took around 7 years to happen and she probably could not tell if only one was not working….. However I hate to think this was the cause of course because Nissan can’t even get their wires right forcing me to double and triple check the voltage. All I can say is I am glad I read a post saying ‘solid should be positive and striped should be negative, but the only real way to know is to get out a voltmeter’
