I want to upgrade my stereo in my 2002 Malibu. When I get online at Bestbuy.com or other sites, I am told that only a cheap cassette stereo is an option. Due you know if this is true and what I could do.

I bought an aftermarket stereo for my 02 Malibu but no matter what I do I can not get the display to stay on but it does get power and I know the stereo does work. Does anyone have any ideas or advice for me?

I tried to install an aftermarket radio in my ’02 malibu, and everything seemed to work fine except that the volume is really quiet. If I turn the stereo to max volume, I can barely hear it. Any ideas what I did wrong?

Can you hook up a aux cord on 2002 chevrolet malibu factory radio? If so, how would I go about doing this?

Will, we suggest you purchase an automotive auxiliary input adapter. This adapter will allow you to input any Apple iPod, mp3 player or portable music player into your factory radio. This is the easiest and most cost effective way to add an audio input into your factory stereo directly rather than over the air. Here is the adapter you will need:

If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2002 Chevrolet Malibu aux input adapter installation.

I purchased an XM radio and am playing through the FM airwaves. I am not that happy with the quality. On my 2002 Chevrolet Malibu, there is a button that states CD/Aux. Do you know if there is an aux input in the back of the factory radio? I know that there isn’t one in the front. I do not want to take it out yet due to the fear of it messing up the silly Passcode II system or something like that on the vehicle. If there isn’t an appropriate aux input, is there any problem with just pulling the radio out to install a FM direct adapter in regards to the Passcode system? Thanks!
