Need to clarify…..illumination, antenna trigger, and dimmer wires…..if I purchased an aftermarket stereo, where do those wires connect on the new stereo?
Jason, your new car stereo will have a wire harness with tags on each wire that indicates which wire hooks up to the illumination, antenna trigger and dimmer wire. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2001 Nissan Altima radio install.

Isaak, your 2001 Nissan Altima may have a factory amplifier that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car stereo amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier. Unfortunately, we do not have this information but maybe someone from the Modified Life community can post that information here. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2001 Nissan Altima amplifier wiring.

CD player and IPOD connection work great. anyone?

My 2001 Nissan Altima auxiliary audio input for the car stereo head unit is not working. Could it be a wiring issue or a problem with the Head unit input jack opening? Please help. Thanks!
Lethal, it would be hard to say what is causing your 2001 Nissan Altima auxiliary audio input to stop working. It could be that the input itself is faulty or a wire is loose on the inside from wear and tear. It would cost a pretty penny to get it diagnosed and repaired by an experienced mobile audio installer. We suggest you install an aftermarket auxiliary input adapter. This aux input adapter will allow you to input any mp3 player, portable music player, Apple iPod or Apple iPhone into your factory stereo. This is the most cost effective and easiest way to add an audio input into your factory radio. Here is the adapter you will need:
