Hooked it up and everything works except the speakers. What do you have to have to make the speakers work?
Elizabeth, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by using an Automotive Fuse Tester and making sure all of your fuses are not blown. If all of your fuses are good, your 1992 Ford Crown Victoria may have a factory amplifier that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car stereo amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier to output sound from your speakers. Hope this points you in the right direction. Good luck with your 1992 Ford Crown Victoria stereo installation.
I am having the same exact problem. So to clarify the amplifier output wire on the NEW stereo needs to connect to where? The factory wire bundle that goes to the speakers also has what looks like a shielding wire. Could that be the issue since there is nowhere to connect it to?
Jon, our advise is to purchase a wire harness to make your aftermarket stereo installation plug and play. Here is the wire harness you need:
Non-Amplified Stereo Wire Harness for 1992 Ford Crown Victoria
Amplifier Integration Wire Harness for 1992 Ford Crown Victoria
Amplifier Bypass Wire Harness for 1992 Ford Crown Victoria
If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 1992 Ford Crown Victoria stereo installation.
