One of the most frustrating situations is looking at your dash and seeing a bright yellow check engine light telling you that your 2000 Acura Integra has a problem. Diagnosing problems with automotive components in 2000 Acura Integra vehicles are becoming increasing more complicated due to advancing automotive technologies and electronics.
The Modified Life staff has taken all its 2000 Acura Integra how to and do it yourself (DIY) articles and cataloged them online for use by our Modified Life visitors for free. How to Read a Check Engine Light Code on 2000 Acura Integraa
1. Activate the 2000 Acura Integra Check Engine Light Diagnostic:
Go to passenger kick panel of your 2000 Acura Integra and look for a green cover right above the kick panel. Inside the green cover you’ll find a blue connector that has two wires attached to it. With the ignition off, use a small wire or paper clip to jump or connect the two wires in the blue connector. After securing the connection, turn your key to the ignition position (two clicks) until the dash lights come on but do not start your 2000 Acura Integra.
2. Read the Check Engine Code off the 2000 Acura Integra Check Engine Light:
To read the check engine code, pay close attention to how your check engine light is flashing. It will flash a series of long flashes and short flashes. The check engine trouble code is a 2-digit code. The long flashes represent the first digit and the short flashes represent the second digit. If your 2000 Acura Integra check engine light flashes 2 long flashes and 3 short flashes, then the check engine trouble code is: 23
If your 2000 Acura Integra has one check engine trouble code, the check engine light will flash long flashes, short flashes, pause and repeat the code.
LONG – LONG – SHORT – SHORT – SHORT – PAUSE – REPEAT
(Here the check engine trouble code is 23.)
If your 2000 Acura Integra has more than one check engine light trouble code, the first engine code will flash, then the second engine code will flash and repeat.
LONG – SHORT – SHORT – PAUSE – LONG – LONG – PAUSE – REPEAT
(Here the check engine trouble codes is 12 and 20.)
