How to Check Engine Oil Level on 1994 Honda Accord
The 1994 Honda Accord engine oil level should be checked at least 30 minutes after the vehicle has been driven or not driven at all. You must allow the engine oil to settle into the oil pan before checking the engine oil level. Checking the engine oil level right after driving your 1994 Honda Accord will give you an inaccurate reading on the engine oil dipstick. Also, make sure your 1994 Honda Accord is on level ground.
Unlatch your 1994 Honda Accord hood by pulling the hood latch located under the driver side of the dash. Prop your hood up and locate the dipstick at the front side of the engine. The engine oil dipstick has an orange loop handle and is located behind the drive belt on the right side of the engine.
Grab your rag and pull the engine oil dipstick all the way out. Wipe off all the oil on the dipstick with your rag so that you have a completely clean engine oil dipstick.
Re-insert the clean oil dipstick back into the metal tube. Make sure you push the dipstick all the way in until it can’t go any deeper. This step is crucial in getting the correct engine oil level reading.
Pull the engine oil dipstick again and inspect the oil on the end of the dipstick. There are 2 holes on the end of the dipstick. These holes are your 1994 Honda Accord oil level indicators. A normal oil level reading would be in the middle of the two holes on the dipstick. If your engine oil reading is in the middle of the two holes, you’re done checking your oil level. If your engine oil reading is near the lower hole, you may not have enough oil in your engine and will need to fill your engine oil to the correct level (go to step 5).
Remove the oil cap from the valve cover and add the correct amount of oil to obtain a middle reading on your engine oil dipstick. Keep in mind the lower hole of the oil dipstick and the upper hole on the oil dipstick are exactly 1 quart of oil apart so add how ever amount of oil is necessary to get the middle engine oil dipstick reading. Continually check the engine oil level using the dipstick until you obtain a middle reading.
