Scott, your vehicle may have a factory amplifier that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. Unfortunately, we don’t have this information but maybe someone from the Modified Life community can post that information here. Hope this helps. Good luck.
It seems like it’s a bonehead request, but after switching from an Alpine to Blaupunkt cd /receiver in my 1998 bmw 323, there was no signal reaching any of the speakers. I was careful to repeat the same hookups, and have since run new wires directly to the front speakers just to give me temporary tunes.
From the player, the speaker wires all run into the center console tunnel where they head under the rug toward the driver’s seat. Before I remove the seat to further trace the wires to an assumed equalizer or switcher, I thought I’d run this by anyone who might just know where to look for the mystery junction where the wires change from one set of color codes to completely different colored wires that run to the actual speakers? My manual makes no mention of an equalizer, and doesn’t show a change in wire colors. THANKS!
