  2. Ignore my last comment.The brown wire is for the door chime and it over loads. Went to the larger green wire in the fuse block and it seems to work

Just finished installing an Alpine deck in a 2010 pontiac g5 with an amp and I found this wiring diagram to be great but the I found that the easiest place to find the switched 12 volts was at the fuse block on the left side of the passenger compartment. When you look at the fuse block and you see a brown wire just tap into it. It is a switched 12v and I am not sure if it is the one from the ignition but it does do the trick

  4. Montgomery, we advise you to remove the door panel and take a look at the speaker itself to make sure the wire connectors are well seated. Most door panel removals can be done with a Phillips screwdriver and by simply pulling the door panel off by hand. Just look for screws at the edge of the door panel, near the door handle or inside the door pull. Once you remove all the screws or plastic tabs, you should be able to pull the door panel off with ease by lifting up and out. Hope this helps.   6. Lacy, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by using an Automotive Fuse Tester and making sure all of your fuses are not blown. If all of your fuses are good, your 2009 Pontiac G5 may have a factory amplifier that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car stereo amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier to output sound from your speakers. Hope this points you in the right direction.   7. I am trying to put a double din tv/radio in my 2009 pontiac g5 and I bought the interface and the antenna adapter. I hooked everything up but the radio is nothing but static. I cant figure out! it is please help

  8. Josh, run a primary wire to the steering column and use the brown wire in the ignition switch harness for your 12-volt switched power. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2009 Pontiac G5 amp installation.

  9. So tapping into the radio switched 12v+wire, would it be the easiest to tap into the steering column. Just making sure this is correct, it would be the brown wire??

  10. Josh, technically you could connect your 2009 Pontiac G5 amplifier turn on wire to the radio switched 12v+ wire. That way your amplifier is on whenever your 2009 Pontiac G5 is on and off whenever your 2009 Pontiac G5 is off. Just make sure to run an in-line fuse holder with a 1-amp fuse on the amplifier turn on wire. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2009 Pontiac G5 amplifier install.

  11. When using the factory radio, what wire do you tap into for hooking the remote turn on wire up on an amp. I know the older models had a factory amp and you could hook into that

  12. Jr, yes you can add a subwoofer to your factory 2009 Pontiac G5 radio. You would need five components:

    1. Car Subwoofer
    2. Car Subwoofer Box
    3. Car Audio Amplifier that matches your subwoofer power needs and ohm rating.
    4. Car Amplifier Wiring Kit that can handle the power needs of your amplifier.
    5. RCA Line Out Converter to feed an audio signal from your factory radio to your aftermarket amplifier.

    First run all your amplifier power from your car battery to where you plan on mounting your amplifier. Next, run your ground wire from your grounding point to your amplifier. Wire up the RCA Line Out Converter to the rear speaker wires to get a full range audio source. Next, connect one end of your RCA jacks to the Line Out Converter and the other end of the RCA jacks to your amplifier. This will provide an audio signal to your after market amp. Lastly, connect your subwoofer to your after market amplifier using the speaker wire in the amplifier wiring kit. If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps.
