im hooking up an amp to my factory stereo i have an rca output convertor but which wire do i hook it up too?
A. Brill, when using a Speaker to RCA Line Out Converter tap your factory rear speaker wires to get a full range audio source. We suggest you invest in some solid wire taps that wont come loose. These wire tap connectors will allow you to tap into wires without cutting and installs in seconds by hand with no crimping or tools required. If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2008 Dodge Caliber amplifier installation.
I’m on the process of hooking up an amplifier and subwoofers to my girlfriends 2010 Dodge caliber. My only question is if the factory radio to a 2010 Caliber comes with rca inputs or do i have to go ahead and install a rca converter? any help is much appreciated!
Mario, most late model vehicles do not have RCA outputs on the factory radio to feed an audio signal to your aftermarket amplifier. You would have to install a line out converter to supply an audio output. Here is the Line-Out Converter you need:

When splicing in the RCA Line Out Converter, tap your factory rear speaker wires to get a full range audio source. We suggest you invest in some solid wire taps that wont come loose. These wire tap connectors will allow you to tap into wires without cutting and installs in seconds by hand with no crimping or tools required. hi i just purchased a 2008 dodge caliber and need instructions on how to get access to my rear door speakers to put a line out converter to my amp if you could please help?
I have a 2009 caliber with the 9 speaker Boston Accoustics system. I want to hook up and amp and two subs soon, but want to keep my factory head unit. What’s the best way to go about this?
John, you would need five components:
1. Car Subwoofer
2. Car Subwoofer Box to house your car subwoofer.
3. Car Audio Amplifier that matches your subwoofer power needs and ohm rating.
4. Car Amplifier Wiring Kit that can handle the power needs of your amplifier.
5. RCA Line Out Converter to feed an audio signal from your factory radio to your aftermarket amplifier.
First run all your amplifier power from your car battery to where you plan on mounting your amplifier. Next, run your ground wire from your grounding point to your amplifier. Wire up the RCA Line Out Converter to the rear speaker wires to get a full range audio source. Next, connect one end of your RCA jacks to the Line Out Converter and the other end of the RCA jacks to your amplifier. This will provide an audio signal to your after market amp. Lastly, connect your subwoofer to your after market amplifier using the speaker wire in the amplifier wiring kit. If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2008 Dodge Caliber amplifier and subwoofer installation.

I just recently installed a deck in my 2008 dodge caliber and im sure i have all the wires ran right but i still cant get power to the deck. can anyone help me out?
DJ, double check ALL your fuses using an Automotive Fuse Tester because certain vehicles may have a wire tied into another circuit not labeled as car radio. You may have additional fuse boxes by the driver side of the dash, passenger side of the dash, driver kick panel, passenger kick panel, under the steering column or under the hood. If all of your fuses are good, double check your wire connections. If you still cant find the problem, we suggest you take your car to an experienced audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2008 Dodge Caliber radio troubleshooting.
I installed an aftermarket stereo in my 2008 Dodge Caliber but I’m not getting any sound? Put put in a new amp and sub I can get bass out of it but that’s all.
Jesse, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are in working condition. You can do this by using an Automotive Fuse Tester and make sure all of your fuses are not blown. If all of your fuses are in working condition, your 2008 Dodge Caliber may have a factory amplifier that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car radio amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amp to output sound from your speakers. Double check that your 2008 Dodge Caliber amplifier turn on wire is connected. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2008 Dodge Caliber radio installation.
