I’m tryin to put a amp in my 07 monte carlo and was wondering if there was some way to make an aux out
Dylan, can you be more specific in terms of what you’re trying to do? Do you mean creating an aux out from your stock radio to feed the amplifier?
Does the 07 Monte Carlo have a factory amp?
Sha, yes.. the factory amplifier is located under the rear deck in the trunk. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Since the 07 Monte has a factory amp, do I have to change the factory radio in order to change the factory speakers?
Sha, not necessarily. You can replace your stock speakers while still using your stock radio and amplifier as long as the aftermarket speakers you are putting in have the same ohm rating as the stock speakers. Most aftermarket speakers come in a 4 ohm rating but some factory amplified speakers run on different ohm ratings like 8 ohm or even 12 ohm. Asking your dealer is the easiest way to find out what the ohm rating in your car speakers is. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Where would be a good location to tap a switched power source in the under-dash fuse panel (right kick panel)?
James, run a primary wire to your steering column and tap the brown wire (accessory switched power) in your ignition switch harness. Hope this helps. Good luck.
My fault. I was tapping the tan wires. I found the brown wire further in the harness, tapped into it, and the radio works fine!! Thank you very much for your help!!
James, we’re glad we could help you with your car stereo wiring diagram needs.
What fuse do i use when running my remote wire to the fuse box in my 2007 monte carlo
Tahdow, use a 1 amp fuse. Hope this helps. Good luck.
MY problem is my amp wont turn off when the car is turned off
Tahdow, double check that you have the amp trigger wire hooked up correctly. It may be hooked up to a constant power source thus keeping your amp on all the time. Hope this helps. Good luck.
I am trying to hook up a subwoofer but I cannot find a way to hook my amp to a power source without cutting a hole in my cars Firewall. Is there any other way to do it.
Shane, the easiest and safest way to run the power cable from the battery is through the firewall. Unfortunately, this is the standard way to install a power cable for an aftermarket amplifier. Hope this helps. Good luck.
All the fuses in my fuse box are constant power. what do i do?
Trevor, you can find a accessory switched power source in your steering column. Take apart your steering column and search for a brown wire coming from the ignition switch. That will be your accessory switch wire. Hope this helps. Good luck.
If I read this correct the pink amp trigger wire would go to the amp so it turns on when the radio is turned on correct?
Neil, that is correct. Hope this helps. Good luck on your install.
I want to install an amp and subs to my 07 impala. I want to use the factory radio. Can be done and what is the easiest way to do this. Any help will be greatful.
Mike, you will require a line out converter. A line out converter will allow you to provide an aftermarket amplifier with an audio signal via RCA wires. Here is the Line-Out Converter you need:
Scosche 2-Channel Speaker to RCA Line Out Converter
If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your subwoofer install.
I have a 2007 chevrolet impala with radio with mp3 input jack. what is the cable i will need to hook this up to a mp3 player? Thank you.
This may have been answered above, so bear with me. I installed an entire new stereo system in my 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Deck, amp, sub, 6 1/2’s, 6×9’s, speaker wire, the whole thing. My only problem is I have to turn the radio on and off, it doesn’t tie in with the cars power to shut off when car does. What wire should I hook to on deck, and where should I run it to the car? I had a harness so I didn’t have to do anything but match the colors, and everything on the harness in plugged in, but I still have this problem.
Jason, run a primary wire from the back of your radio to your steering column and use the brown wire in the ignition switch harness. This brown wire will provide a switched power source for your 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo stereo. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo stereo installation.
anyone know where is the fuses for the radio located in a 1999 monte carlo?
so even if i have a 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo radio harness for the deck and color coordinate it. Do i still have to run a primary wire to the ignition switch? Or does the deck harness and car harness just plug and play?
Vic, yes you would have to run a primary wire to your steering column and use the brown wire in the ignition switch harness. This brown wire will provide you with a switched power source. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo radio install.
Just installed a whole new system in my 07 Monte Carlo. Head unit door and deck speakers and amp. I bought the modules for the onstar and steering wheel controls but I’m not getting sound from the onstar. Any ideas?
Does the factory deck in my 2007 Monte Carlo have rca jacks for an aftermarket amp?
Jikomacson1, most late model vehicles do not have RCA outputs on the factory radio to feed an audio signal to your aftermarket amplifier. You would have to install a line out converter to supply an audio output. Here is the Line-Out Converter you need:
2-Channel Speaker to RCA Line Out Converter
When splicing in the RCA Line Out Converter, tap your factory rear speaker wires to get a full range audio source. We suggest you invest in some solid wire taps that wont come loose. These wire tap connectors will allow you to tap into wires without cutting and installs in seconds by hand with no crimping or tools required. If you install a line out converter, your rear speakers will still work properly. If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2007 Monte Carlo amplifier installation.
