If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck.
i have 2005 mazda 3 . battery was dead and when it got jumped something smoked inside the cab. now the radio, power door locks and power steering do not work . i checked fuses . they are good. all these components have power to them but they are still not working . what could it be ?
Steve, if all your fuses are not blown, it would be hard to say what it could be. There is a possibility that a key component itself got burnt out. Our advice is to take your car to your local Mazda dealer and have them run a full diagnostic on the electrical system to figure out what the problem is. Hope this helps. Good luck with troubleshooting your 2005 Mazda 3.
I am wondering if my 2005 mazda 3 has rca jacks on the rear of the factory deck for an amplifier hook up or am I going to need to buy a wiring harness? I would like to know before pulling it all apart
B, most late model vehicles do not have RCA outputs on the factory radio to feed an audio signal to your aftermarket amplifier. You would have to install a line out converter to supply an audio output. Here is the Line-Out Converter you need:
Scosche 2-Channel Speaker to RCA Line Out Converter
When splicing in the RCA Line Out Converter, tap your factory rear speaker wires to get a full range audio source. We suggest you invest in some solid wire taps that wont come loose. These wire tap connectors will allow you to tap into wires without cutting and installs in seconds by hand with no crimping or tools required. If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Mazda 3 amplifier installation.

You guys were a great help! Mazda’s have funky color codes for the stock stereo and this seems to be the only place with them correct. Thanks a ton! I installed my first sub/amp today and it turned out great. Any leads on a good 3.5mm Input adapter for a 2004 Mazda 3 stock radio?

I have a 2005 mazda mazda 3 2.3l. I’ve lost the functionality of the radio from the radio controls. I can access the mode, presets and volume from the steering wheel. None of the buttons on the radio work. Any thoughts? thanks
