  1. Bill, as much as we would like to help you, not all car alarms are installed the same way. Different brands and different setups will call for different wiring. Our advice is to take your car to a qualified alarm installer and ask them to put your alarm in valet mode because it does take some alarm programming knowledge and experience to know what to do. Hope this helps. Good luck on your 2005 Ford Escape alarm troubleshooting.

  2. I have a 2005 Ford Escape and the alarm system keeps going off for no reason. Is there a way to disconnect the alarm but still be able to lock the doors. I thank you for an answer. Bill

  3. Tina, it sounds like the alarm system in your vehicle is not installed correctly. The indicator light on your steering column should not be blinking when you’re driving your vehicle. We suggest you take your vehicle to a qualified car alarm installer and have them do a once over on your alarm system. Either the settings on your car alarm or the wiring is not correct. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  4. Hi, just bought a 2005 Ford Escape last week. Two keys were given by the dealer. The truck had an auto start and an alarm installed by the previous owner. The auto start was used by the dealer but when I tried using it at home it doesn’t work. Also there is a small red light on the top of the steering wheel column that flashes but seems to be always on even when you are driving the truck. Should this light not be off until you actually arm the alarm?
