where is the bose amp located in a 05 chevy trailblazer?
is there rca hookups on the radio of a 05 chevy trailblazer
Devon, most late model vehicles do not have RCA hookups on the factory radio. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Does replacing the factory deck in the newer Trailblazers affect the computer or engine performance?
I have a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer without a bose system… is there still an oem amp installed? I wanna put in a new headunit but not sure if I need an amp bypass and the manual says nothing bout it but i know some models have an amp
Which is the best place to run my switched power source.
where is best place to run wire to fuse box for power source?
Ray, run a wire to the steering column and use the orange wire in the ignition switch harness. This will provide a switched power source. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer stereo installation.
Hi, I’ve had to install a little add-on XM radio receiver (onyx) because my 2005 Chevy Trailblazer just stopped picking up the audio signal (xm stations were still displayed, but no audio). Because the Onyx antenna audio is always static-y, so I’d like to wire it into my Aux Audio Input for a clearer sound. I’ve found the box behind the dash that is labeled Aux 1 & Aux 2 (left and right) input, but my car is not seeming to acknowledge any aux input except the CD player. Am I hooking this whole thing up wrong? Help please…um, and will you please use “girl” terms? I’m on my own with this project!!! Thank you~ Wendy
Where is the stereo amp located in a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer?
I want to install a new stereo into my 2005 trailblazer and I am concerned that the GM chime or the Onstar options will no longer function if I do, or I am under the assumption that I will have to purchase a new chime/Onstar unit if I want to still be able to hear any of the vehicle chime alarms. Can anyone tell me if this is true or maybe what my result will be if I install the new stereo just connecting the speaker and power wires and nothing else?
I just installed a Kenwood KVT-514 head unit in my 2005 chevrolet trailblazer. I have the bose system and the rear seat entertainment system. I used a metra gmos-014 integration interface kit. It allows you to retain chimes and onstar along with everything else. The problem I have is I now have no rear audio controls or channels. I am not getting power to the rear controls. Any ideas?
Hey Josh, I am looking at the GMOS-014 interface for my 2005 Chevrolet Yukon especially it says to retain RSE! does your oem dvd work well? To answer your question about the rear audio controls retention…NO. I talked to a Tech a Metra, and He says that they dont have any interfaces that retains rear audio yet. I hope this answers your question.
I owned a 2005 trailblazer with a radio that works, but the cd player is defective. I’m thinking of removing radio/cd complete unit and ordering same type unit from chevrolet dealer. I was told by the dealership technician that the replacement unit has to be program at the dealership with vehicle, or else it won’t function properly. Any suggestion or ideas?
I have a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer EXT LT with the premium Bose sound system. It does not have an auxiliary jack but does have an aux/cd button on the unit. I assumed that meant that there would be jacks somewhere on the unit that I could plug into to play my i-Pod as the auxiliary input. I pulled the stereo out and found no jacks or plugs. Is there any way to accomplish this? Thanks!
Doug, we suggest you purchase an automotive auxiliary input adapter. This adapter will allow you to input any Apple iPod, mp3 player or portable music player into your factory radio. This is the easiest and most cost effective way to add an audio input into your factory stereo. Here is the bluetooth transmitter you will need:

If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer bluetooth transmitter installation.
Hey Josh, I also have the GMOS-014 for my 2005 Yukon with Bose. Yes the rear audio controls are gone and the rear dvd does play, BUT the there is no RSE audio. There is also some noise interference using the GMOS-014. When the chimes, music or whatever sound play I can hear a hissing static in the speakers. Metra tech told me its because of Bose amp and using aftermarket interface. The bad thing is the hissing raises/lowers with volume, even the music is louder it still irritates make knowing it(I am an audiophile I guess ). I probably could get past the interference, but the RSE has no audio….just the interference noise LOL. If there is anyone who has the GMOS-014 without that problem or know hows to fix it, please comment and let me know!
