what fuse in the main fuse box do i run the power switch to?
Kamona, use the orange wire in the ignition switch harness located inside the steering column. Hope this helps. Good luck.
I have a 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo ls and I just had an aftermarket stereo install, and everything was going great but for some reason. When I put the face on the radio it didn’t go on. So when I turn off the radio the face when down and then I turn the key on accessory and the radio worked. Do you think it’s probably because it was hot or it’s a loose wired? If you have an answer please let me know, and the radio it’s a pioneer like the one you have on display.
Fernando, first double check all your wiring and make sure they are connected securely and properly. If everything is correct, your radio and radio’s detachable face has a connection problem. You may need to have a qualified car stereo repair shop test the unit. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo troubleshooting.
Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: The radio harness does not provide a switched power source. Run a wire to the fusebox or ignition switch harness for switched power.how can i do that?
Marcello, run a primary wire to the steering column and use the orange wire in the ignition switch harness for your switched power source. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo stereo installation.
Radio displays work, however, no sound from the speakers.
Cynthia, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by using an Automotive Fuse Tester and making sure all of your fuses are not blown. If all of your fuses are good, your 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo may have a factory amp that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car radio amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier to output sound from your speakers. Double check that your 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo amp turn on wire is connected. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo stereo installation.
