Ashley, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by using an Automotive Fuse Tester and make sure all of your fuses are not blown. If all of your fuses are in working condition, your 2004 Kia Optima may have a factory amplifier that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car radio amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amp to output sound from your speakers. Double check that your 2004 Kia Optima amplifier turn on wire is connected. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2004 Kia Optima radio installation.
I have the same problem i have a 2004 kia optima and no sound comes out of my speakers at all I bought a new stereo and tried installing it last night and still no sound could this be an amp also?
i own a 2004 kia optima. i wanna know if the stereo coded because its bring out no sound from speakers and the channels keep fluctuating without following programmed channel settings. someone please help me out. you are guys are doing a great job .i have learned a lot here. thanks.
Will, most late model vehicles do not have RCA outputs on the factory radio to feed an audio signal to your aftermarket amplifier. You would have to install a line out converter to supply an audio output. Here is the Line-Out Converter you need:
Scosche 2-Channel Speaker to RCA Line Out Converter
When splicing in the RCA Line Out Converter, tap your factory rear speaker wires to get a full range audio source. We suggest you invest in some solid wire taps that wont come loose. These wire tap connectors will allow you to tap into wires without cutting and installs in seconds by hand with no crimping or tools required. If you install a line out converter, your rear speakers will still work properly. If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2004 Kia Optima amplifier and subwoofer installation.
i have a 2004 kia optima lx i am hooking up 2 bazooka subs with amps but dont know where to wire them
We have the same problem and was told to check around with junk yards and car stereo installation shops to see if they could put in an amp. I did not check the junk yards, but have run into the same issues of everyone wanting an outrageous amount to get the amp. Can I use just any amp? Is there a certain size? Brand? The stereo works, as do the front speakers…was told the amp supplies to the rear speakers of which are not working. Thanks!
Greg, it is possible for a factory amplifier to go bad and yes it is expensive to replace because you can only get the amplifier from the dealer. If you don’t want to spend $800 on an amplifier, our advice is to call a couple of experienced car stereo installation shops in your area. Ask them if they can bypass the amp, it may be cheaper to have your car re-wired rather than spend $800 dollars. Hope this helps. Good luck.
My mother-in-law has a 2004 Kia Optima and her factory stereo is not putting out any sound. A mechanic at the local shop said the “power amplifier” went bad and it’s an $800 part. He said the stereo itself is fine, but since the “power amplifier” is bad, the sound from the stereo head unit can’t be heard. Is there such a thing or can I just install an aftermarket stereo and solve the problem?
