Jon, we suggest you install an automotive auxiliary input adapter. This aux input adapter will allow you to input any mp3 player, portable music player, Apple iPod or Apple iPhone into your factory stereo. This is the most cost effective and easiest way to add an audio input into your factory radio directly rather than over the air. Here is the adapter you will need:

Erik, run a primary wire to your steering column and use the orange wire in the ignition switch harness. This orange wire will provide a switched power source for your 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 stereo.

In your opinion where is the best or most convenient location to find and connect for the switched power source. I have a 2004 chevrolet silverado with no bose or on-star. Also I plan to use standard harness without connection for chime. also if you could tell me the exact sizes of speakers in the front and rear. I have been getting different info on what is in my 2004 chevrolet silverado truck.
