So as I understand to change my speakers I have to figure out the wattage output of my vines amp but I can’t find what that wattage output is anywhere, is there anyone who knows that could help?
I’ve recently purchased a 2003 Vibe GT and from what I’ve read, the plug on the other side with the one single wire coming out of it is the power source for the integrated factory amplifier. Dennis D: you are not getting sound from your new deck is probably because your factory amplifier is not getting any power thus not turning on thus no sound. The factory amplifier is located underneath the front passenger seat. All this is to be confirmed when I do my own installation in a few weeks.
there are several comments about the mysterious white wire but no answers. Does anyone have an answer?
Dennis, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by using an Automotive Fuse Tester and making sure all of your fuses are not blown. If all of your fuses are good, your 2003 Pontiac Vibe may have a factory amp that needs to be turned on by your after market radio. The car radio amplifier trigger wire has to be wired up to turn on your factory amplifier to output sound from your speakers. Double check that your 2003 Pontiac Vibe amp turn on wire is connected. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2003 Pontiac Vibe stereo installation.
I ordered the 2003 Pontiac Vibe harness linked above. What arrived is labeled “CC-2013B Chevrolet Metro/Prizm/Tracker 2000 (24Pin)” The plugs match physically, but I get no sound from any speaker… I fear either my stereo or my new wiring harness are bad or that I have the wrong harness. :( Reconnecting the old system works. Any thoughts?
