  1. Trying to purchase a double din aftermarket cd dvd combo but need to know the dimensions of the 2003 Nissan Maxima factory radio to see if this one will fit. I have a single din pioneer in it right now but want to upgrade it. Does anyone know what the factory radio dimensions of a non bose radio is?????

  2. I have a 2003 Nissan Maxima SE with the NON-BOSE stereo. I installed an aftermarket radio (Pioneer AVIC-F7010BT) in the car and now both my front door speakers don’t work. my tweeters work, as well as rear door and rear deck lid speakers work fine. What am I missing? I’d prefer to not have to re-wire my door speakers because I don’t want to take the door panels off (I’ve had bad luck with them rattling after removal and re-install) (I used an aftermarket wire harness to do the install, so I did not splice into any cables other than the backup light and parking break or the GPS and rear view camera). Any idea on why my front door speakers aren’t working? with my front door speakers non-functional, the GPS voice is very quiet and hard to understand unless I turn the audio way up. anyone?

  3. Megan, double check ALL your fuses using an Automotive Fuse Tester because certain vehicles may have a wire tied into another circuit not labeled as car radio. You may have additional fuse boxes by the driver side of the dash, passenger side of the dash, driver kick panel, passenger kick panel, under the steering column or under the hood. If all of your fuses are good, your 2003 Nissan Maxima stereo may be faulty. We suggest you take your car to an experienced car audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2003 Nissan Maxima radio troubleshooting.

  4. I have a 2003 Nissan maxima SE and the stereo led lights aren’t working and the back lights to my ac are not as well… I’m not sure if this a fuse problem or if it is just broken?

  5. Ron, double check ALL your fuses using a Automotive Fuse Tester because certain vehicles may have a wire tied into another circuit not labeled as car radio. You may have additional fuse boxes by the driver side of the dash, passenger side of the dash, driver kick panel, passenger kick panel, under the steering column or under the hood. We suggest you take your car to an experienced audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2003 Nissan Maxima radio troubleshooting.

  6. Bill, you may have mixed up the battery constant and accessory switched wires. The battery constant always sends power to the radio to save your radio stations and other audio settings. The accessory switched wire sends power to your radio only when the key is in the ignition and your 2003 Nissan Maxima is on. Check your wiring and make sure the correct radio wires are hooked up to the correct wires on your factory harness. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2003 Nissan Maxima radio installation.

  7. I have a 2003 Nissan Maxima and the radio does not go off now when i turn off the ignition. does anyone have a hint on what the problem may be?

  8. Hello, I have a 2003 Nissan Maxima SE 3.5L V6, my subwoofer cuts off whenever it feels like it. I did not find any connection to any road bumps or other factors, tried to look for loose wiring but didnt find anything, if you have any suggestions, I will be glad to hear them.

  9. Hi, I have a 2003 Nissan Maxima with a bose system. My front speaker on the passenger side just blew. Is there any way i can get it replaced with same type of speaker???

  10. I have a 2003 Nissan Maxima without the bose system. I put an aftermarket radio in, and i have no sound from the speakers. I have tried the audio fuse under the hood. The radio powers off when i remove the fuse. So, i know that isnt the problem, or at least i hope. I do not have an amp mounted under the rear deck, nor do I have a speaker fuse in the fuse box under the hood. I have a listing for the speaker fuse on the fuse box cover, stating that it would have been a 15 amp fuse. If there is an amp, I would love to know where it is. And what other fuse would control the speakers if there is one. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

  11. I have a 2003 Maxima / non Bose, with very little output of the front left, rear left, rear right speakers… only the front right is working. any suggestions ?

  12. I’m also having the “left channel not working” problem on my 2003 Maxima but I DON’T have the Bose system. It’s just the standard factory radio. I replaced the radio with another factory one but it didn’t help. Both the speakers on the drivers side doors (front and back) get no sound at all and the one on the top drivers side gives a little (faint) sound. Very infrequently they will start working but it never lasts more then a few days at best. Any suggestions?

  13. I have a 2002 maxima with Bose deck…I have just purchased this great car and I found that I have very poor am reception. A local stereo shop charged me $70.00 and said that my coax wire and amp to the antenna needed to be replaced. He offered to put a after market antenna on for $200.00 and a deal repair would be $500.00. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  14. Garrett, it sounds like your amplifier might be on its last leg. The 2003 Maxima GLE does have a complex setup but its not impossible. If you plan on doing the install yourself, we suggest you purchase a wiring harness to make your install easier. If you have never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer and have them install what you need. Hope this helps. Good luck on your install.

  15. I have a 2003 Maxima GLE with stock in-dash dvd navigation and bose 6 disc changer in trunk. My problem that I’m having is the subwofer cuts in and out ALL the time. It doesn’t matter the time of day or how fast I’m going it turns on and off whenever it wants. Also when I accelerate a lot of times it’ll get louder and when I break to a stop the volume decreases most of the time. I’ve come to realize it’s probably my amp that needs to be replaced but may be in my best interest to just get aftermarket sub and aftermarket amp for better sound and maybe even cheaper. I like loud music so I’m not opposed to buying aftermarket but these cars have complex setups so, what suggestions do you guys have? Thx in advance.

    Garrett

  16. Its the bose cd player that’s the problem. When I replacrd myne everything worked fine. I even did a test and used the bose radio. It never cut out. To replace the radio is cheaper than reparing it wich runs a lot at the factory. Funny thing is its a loose ribon cable int the stock radio

  17. 2003 Maxima SE Right side of radio/speakers go off and on. sometimes I hit a bump and it comes back on, and I also hear the crackling sound here and there, but the system is not a Bose.
    Would appreciate any input.
    Thanks Bunches
    Linda

  18. I have a 2003 maxima se and was told the driver front left speaker is blown. What I don’t understand is why it works intermitently? Could there be a defect and might it be under some kind of warranty even though the car is 6 years old? Also can you please tell me what speakers were used in this car in case i have to replace it. I know it is not a Bose.

  19. Brenton, your factory bose system maybe be faulty. Each system on your bose system has an amplifier at the speaker. It may only be the left speaker amplifiers but we wouldn’t be able to tell you for sure over the internet. Our advice is to take your car to an experienced stereo installer and have them check it out. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  20. Hi
I have a 2003 Nissan Maxima (SE) with the Factory Bose syetem. When i drive off the left hand side speakers either cut off or sound very low. The right hand side speakers work fine. When i come to a stop or hit a Bump, the right hand speakers Come on. This irritates alot. Sometimes you can hear static before they come on or off. When they come on the speakers all work Perfect. i took the Driver door Panel out to see if there was a Loose wire on the speaker but None. Please help what should i do.
