Ken, double check ALL your fuses using a Automotive Fuse Tester because certain vehicles may have a wire tied into another circuit not labeled as car radio. You may have additional fuse boxes by the driver side of the dash, passenger side of the dash, driver kick panel, passenger kick panel, under the steering column or under the hood. Hope this helps. 2003 Ford Escape – radio and interior lights do not turn on. Power door locks also only work when the car is on or key is in ACC position. I checked the B2N1 & 2 fuses and they’re good to go. anyone?
DanMario, most late model vehicles do not have RCA outputs on the factory radio to feed an audio signal to your aftermarket amplifier. You would have to install a line out converter to supply an audio output. Here is the Line-Out Converter you need:
Factory Amplifier Integration Wiring Harness for 2003 Ford Escape
When splicing in the RCA Line Out Converter, tap your factory rear speaker wires to get a full range audio source. We suggest you invest in some solid wire taps that wont come loose. These wire tap connectors will allow you to tap into wires without cutting and installs in seconds by hand with no crimping or tools required. I just put a new stereo in my 2003 ford escape. But I cannot find a wire harness to in clude the subwoofer. I’ve looked everywher. And I’m not sure about getting it off net cuz I can’t see if it has the extra ports

I have the same problem as Laxtaxi. I removed a radio I had installed a few years ago and in the process I shorted the yellow/green wire on the 16 pin radio connect. I found the radio fuse had blown so I replaced the fuse and I still have no power to the radio. I checked under the hood and traced the wire to the fuse box under the hood and the fuse is fine. Any Ideas? Thanks for your help.

I wanted to add an aux input for my factory radio in my 2003 Ford Escape. I have a factory head unit with single cd, cassette, and control for a cd changer though my car is not equipped with one. I bought the PIE aux input device. To install it I pulled the radio. There are two connections to it: the factory 16 pin harness and the antenna. I removed both. The instructions for the PIE unit said to get power from the wire at pin 9 on the factory harness – this is the constant power source for the radio. So I used a splice on that wire. After connecting everything the radio would not turn on – no power at all. So I disconnected everything and went back to factory connections to test the HU. Still nothing – no power in the HU. I checked the car’s radio fuse on the fuse panel – it was ok. I checked the underhood fuses. They were ok. I used a test light to see if there was power at pin 9 on the factory harness. There is. NOTE: when I put on the splice, it crushes the wire. To be sure that I hadn’t severed too much of the wire, I resoldered the wire. As I mentioned, I am getting power at the end of the factory harness, confirmed by test light. Curiously, though, the test light doesn’t illuminate when I touch the soldered portion of the wire I repaired. Did I do something to the wire? If so, why am I getting power at the factory harness connector (which is past the point of my repair)? Did I kill my HU somehow? Is there another fuse I missed? HELP!
Julio, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by using an Automotive Fuse Tester and making sure all of your fuses are not blown. If all of your fuses are good, your factory amplifier or your car stereo audio output may be faulty. I installed a car audio system for the Premium Mach (Escape 2003 Limited), but the system can’t control or adjust the Subwoofer… now it sounds a bit cheesy & too loud, reducing the bass won’t do anything and the only way to lower the Sub is to put the Fade in the front…I wonder is the amp have a crossover/leveler switch on it. What are my options? Usully, systems have Subwoofer controls but the one I bought dosen’t… :(
Hi, I am going to be installing a Scosche FM-MOD02 stereo FM modulator in my 2003 Ford Escape. The instructions state that I need to find a “+12V Power source and chassis ground” to wire the modulator into. Can you tell me if there is an extra +12V power source behind the radio or in the dash that I can wire into. If not I am thinking of just wiring on a cigarette lighter plug to the modulator so I can just plug it into the cigarette lighter socket when I want to power the FM modulator. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Light blue/Red – Negative Wire
Light Green/Black – Positive Wire
Red/Yellow – Constant Power
Could be other years. Info gained from factory wiring manual.
Eugene, you may have mixed up the battery constant and accessory switched wires. The battery constant always sends power to the radio to save your radio stations and other audio settings. The accessory switched wire sends power to your radio only when the key is in the ignition and your car is on. Check your wiring and make sure the correct radio wires are hooked up to the correct wires on your factory harness. Hope this helps. Good luck.
I can’t get my radio to turn off and it runs my battery down and I need a jump every morning. What do I do! I bought a radio installation kit to take the radio out of the car and disconnect the wires. Is there another solution..
