  1. I wanna thank you guys for this diagram it helped a lot…. but your car radio constant 12v+ wire: is red/white instead of red/black… at least for my car it was.

  2. I have 2002 Mitsubishi galant de and all the info in the diagram is correct accept the 12v constant. I have tested every wire and none have a constant 12 volt power. please help. my radio turns on off it just resets all the info and I have to reset the time and saved stations. thanks for your time.

  3. Jeff, first double check ALL your fuses and make sure ALL your fuses are good. You can do this by using an Automotive Fuse Tester and making sure all of your fuses are not blown. If all of your fuses are good, we suggest you take your car to an experienced audio installer and have them troubleshoot your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2002 Mitsubishi Galant radio troubleshooting.

  4. I think Jeff was right. there is not a red with black stripe wire at all on my 2003 mitsubishi galant original radio wiring. I saw on another site that the Radio 12v constant should be the red with white striped wire. anyone?

  5. Chris, simply ground your wire to the chassis (look below):

    1. Find some bare metal on your vehicle. Make sure this bare metal touches the chassis (frame) of the vehicle.

    2. Connect a ring terminal to the ground wire coming off your aftermarket amplifier.

    3. Use a self tapping screw to attach the black wire with ring terminal to the bare metal. Just make sure the metal you are screwing into does not have any wires or vital automotive components behind it.

Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2003 Mitsubishi Galant stereo installation.
