Hello, I have a 2002 Impala ls, it’s a Canadian built car. I’m wanting to put a low level output in the car. I noticed that there is a large heat sink in the trunk, I’m wondering if that is a factory amp. If so does anyone know what the wiring diagram is for it? Thanks
hi, i have a 2002 impala, im installing an aftermarket stereo. The factory harness doesnt have the accesory wire for the radio for the red wire for the aftermarket stereo where do i get that wire from.
Leoncio, run a wire to your steering column and use the orange wire in the ignition switch harness. Hope this helps. Good luck.
I have a 2002 impala and I put an after market head unit in and the radio only works when the lights are on does anyone know what may cause that??
Okay im tryin to put in a (line output converter) I need to know what the right speaker output and the left speaker output looks like????? ahhh im ready to pull my hair out lol
Hey Everybody! I came on here looking for wire colors or a vehicle with a factory amplifier…I couldn’t find any, so I had to do it the hard way and here are my results.
Amp is in the trunk hanging from the rear deck. The wires going into the larger gray plug are the inputs from the factory radio and are the same colors as listed above. The amp output wires (that go to the speakers) are in the smaller black plug and these are the colors I found and tested:
LF+ Dark blue/white
LF- Light green
RF+ Dark green
RF- Light blue/black
LR+ Brown
LR- White
RR+ Brown
RR- Red
Yes, the positive wire for both rears are the same color, but if you look at the end of the black plug with the 7 pins positioned horizontally, the + and – are on top of each other…not side to side. I hope this helps somebody someday :)
Matt, thanks for the 2002 Chevrolet Impala factory amplifier wiring information contribution!
