  3. I need a close-up picture of the wire harness for model no. 861-0c020, I lost my plugs and am trying to find where each wire went without the harness. I was unable to find anything on the internet. Please help

  4. The hot wire is the switched wire (gray) and the ground wire (brown). Please refer to the 2001 Toyota Camry car stereo wiring diagram listed above. Hope this helps. Good luck with your 2001 Toyota Camry radio installation.

  5. Hot wire and ground wire

What is the hot wire and the ground wire?where i can hook my cd player up without hooking it up straight from the battery. I dont know if its my wire on the car or what.

  6. Scott, I am not sure if your issue has been sorted yet regarding your sons radio/factory stereo. If not you may want to a) check the gray wire that is the Aux12v output from the Camry Radio unit. It is normally designed to work on CD Shuttles etc. It may well have overload protection. You can easily couple a relay to this wire & earth (neg) and use the relays contacts to switch the Stereo unit on off. That way you do not have any overload concern but be sure to put an in-line fuse of correct rating in line with the stereo power. The fuse is normally the same as the current drawn by the stereo. (i,e. if stereo is rated at 5 amp then use a 5 amp slow blow (normal) fuse in the power line. Regards, Dave Rouse

  7. Scott, it would be hard to pin point the exact problem over the internet unless we inspected your install. Our best guess would be that your factory radio is starting to go. Have an experienced stereo installer troubleshoot your factory stereo or install a new aftermarket radio. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  8. you look like you know what you are talking about. i put a subwoofer and amp into my sons 2001 camry. it worked fine for about 3 monts now. i spliced into one of the wires, so that the amp would turn on and off properly, (usually the blue wire on aftermarket stereo units). his factory stereo worked fine and then all of a sudden everything stopped working. no lights anything just to the stereo unit. it then kicked back on a day later, but 3 days later it kicked off again. i have checked radio fuses 1 and 2 and they are good. i have also checked each of the other fuses. Did we blow the redio or is there some kind of relay or overload switch or something on these oem units? i sure would like your opinion or maybe another place to look.
