Rudiger, thanks for the 2001 Jeep Wrangler subwoofer wiring information contribution!
For the guys with the factory sub issues, I just installed a aftermarket stereo this evening and was having the same problem with the factory sub not coming on with the rest of the speakers. Its got a factory amp that needs to be powered on for the sub to work, the harness I used had a wire for power antenna that I connected to power the sub, its just an aux power line. It was blue, the other forums I looked at, everyone said its always blue. Make sure that’s hooked up.
Did anyone find out any answers to the factory sub issue? It would be really helpful! Thanks!
I am also having problems with the amp in my jeep. Is there anyway to get it hooked up? Thank you!!!
PJ, most late model vehicles do not have rca outputs. You would have to install a line out converter. Here is the Line-Out Converter you need:
Scosche 2-Channel Speaker to RCA Line Out Converter
If you’ve never installed car audio before, we advise you to take your car to an experienced mobile audio installer. Hope this helps. Good luck.
does the stock radio have rca jacks in the back?
I am having the same pronlem with the factory sub. have any suggestions. thanks!!
I have the same request as Chris above–I had an aftermarket stereo installed at a big box store. Of course they didn’t hook up the factory sub, and now I’m trying to figure out what they did wrong. Do you know if the harness is supposed to connect to the factory sub? If not, how does the sub connect to the stereo? Thanks for any help you might be able to give me!
Hey, thanks for the help…one question though, my jeep has a factory sub in the console. that’s what i seem to be having touble with. any idea which wire that would be? thanks again!!
